Reiterating that the welfare of police personnel remains a top priority for the Telangana Police, Director General of Police (DGP) Shri C.V. Anand, IPS, conducted a comprehensive review of the Police Officers’ Mess at First Lancer Road, Masab Tank, Hyderabad, on Friday.The Officers’ Mess, spread over 2.01 acres, has been serving the police fraternity for more than 65 years and provides accommodation and welfare facilities for officers visiting Hyderabad from across the State.
During the inspection, the DGP reviewed the overall condition of the Mess, including accommodation blocks, lounges, function halls, kitchen, gymnasium, swimming pool, washrooms and other common areas. He also inspected two lounges currently under construction and directed officials to complete the works at the earliest.
Emphasising the importance of providing quality facilities for police officers, Shri C.V. Anand instructed officials to ensure proper upkeep of all amenities and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hospitality. He directed that unused rooms be converted into meeting rooms and other useful facilities so that available space is utilised effectively.The DGP also instructed officials to improve the parking area, strengthen maintenance mechanisms and enhance the overall appearance of the campus. He stressed that every part of the Officers’ Mess should reflect the professionalism, dignity and pride of the Telangana Police.
During the review, discussions were also held on establishing a system for regular monitoring of maintenance works and welfare-related requirements to ensure timely action and better service delivery.Shri C.V. Anand observed that the Officers’ Mess is not merely a lodging facility but an important institution that promotes interaction and professional bonding among police officers. He said that continuous improvement of such welfare facilities is essential for boosting morale and ensuring the well-being of police personnel.
In this review meeting ACB Director Avinash Mohanty, DCP Bhanumurthy and Senior police officers and members of the Officers’ Mess Committee were present during the review.
