DO BASIC EFFECTIVE AND STRONG POLICING BASED ON INTEGRITY, VISIBILITY AND IMPARTIALITY AND USE OF TECHNOLOGY

 As part of his district tour, Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand visited Khammam and reviewed policing, crime control, road safety, and technology-driven policing initiatives.





Key Highlights:

  • Conducted a comprehensive Crime Review Meeting with police officers.
  • Inaugurated the Road Safety Park.
  • Inaugurated the 250 CCTVs installed in the district and connected to the Command Centre.
  • Police personnel educated students on road safety and traffic rules.

Major Crime Trends Presented During the Khammam District Crime Review

During the district crime review meeting, the Commissioner of Police presented a detailed analysis of the major crime trends in Khammam Commissionerate.

  • Financial fraud cases have witnessed a 30% increase, while job fraud cases have risen by 36%.
  • The CP noted a growing number of fake document cases, indicating an emerging trend that requires close monitoring.
  • GST-related offences have also come to the notice of the police and are under investigation.

Road Safety & Traffic

  • A total of 146 road accident cases were registered in 2026 (up to the review period), compared to 317 cases in 2025.
  • Police have identified accident-prone black spots (hotspots) in urban and rural areas and are taking preventive measures by installing road dividers, warning signboards, and traffic indicators, while also conducting public awareness campaigns.

Cyber Crime

  • As of June 2026, 711 cyber crime cases have been registered.
  • Victims lost approximately ₹9.48 crore in cyber frauds.
  • Police have successfully recovered and refunded ₹1.41 crore to victims.
  • The overall cyber crime rate stands at 14.9%, the Commissioner informed.

Narcotics Enforcement

  • Police seized 1,700 kg of ganja in 2026, while approximately 4,000 kg was seized during 2025.
  • The Commissioner stated that Khammam continues to register one of the highest volumes of ganja seizure cases in the State, reflecting sustained enforcement against narcotics trafficking.

The DGP analysed the lapses in the district crime strategies and advised remedial measures in his review.

DGP Recalls District Days as Khammam Gathering Revives Memories of Administrative Camaraderie

 After completing the crime review meeting in Kothagudem, Telangana DGP C.V. Anand, accompanied by IG Multi Zone-I Chandrasekhar, arrived in Khammam, where they were received by Khammam Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt and District Collector Diwakar. Later in the evening, the Commissioner of Police hosted a dinner get-together, which was attended by Collectors and Superintendents of Police from neighbouring districts.





Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said the gathering brought back memories of his district postings during the 1990s, when officers from different departments frequently met in informal settings. Such interactions, he recalled, fostered camaraderie, strengthened inter-departmental coordination and helped build lasting professional relationships. He said the evening left him feeling nostalgic.

The DGP also said he enjoyed interacting with the younger generation of officers, including Municipal Commissioners, Project Officers of ITDAs,  and Additional SPs, and appreciated the opportunity to exchange ideas with them.

The DGP is scheduled to continue his engagements in Khammam before returning to Hyderabad later in the evening.

The State Government is thinking of strengthening the Food safety and Drug Control Department by combining both and create structures under a single HOD with sufficient enforcement, legal,fsl  and prosecution wings in light of the increasing adulteration of the food that we are consuming and  which are leading to increasing cancers and health issues and also the spread of narcotics in the state . We can spare some force saved from downsizing of greyhounds and octopus for the enforcement wing now of this new organisation . Inter Department discussion  was fruitful and we’ ll be able to progress quickly in this.

DGP C.V. Anand Reviews CCTNS, Visible Policing and Key Policing Initiatives with all Unit Officers

 Director General of Police, Telangana, , on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting with Unit Officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) from across the State at the DGP Office, Hyderabad. The meeting focused on strengthening people-centric policing through greater use of technology and enhancing the efficiency of police services. The DGP reviewed the implementation and progress of key policing initiatives, including CCTNS, Visible Policing, field visits, police station inspections, vehicle checking, narcotics and ganja control, cyber crime investigation, road safety, crime detection and overall policing standards.

Addressing the officers, the DGP stressed that Visible Policing and effective should remain a top priority to enhance public confidence and strengthen police-public relations. He directed all officers to remain accessible to the public and regularly visit police stations under their jurisdiction to assess law and order, crime detection, investigation quality, implementation of policing practices and local public issues. He said field visits enable officers to identify ground-level problems and ensure prompt corrective measures.


The DGP instructed that visiting hours at police stations should be strictly followed and emphasized that officers should function from their offices instead of camp offices, ensuring greater accessibility and accountability. He cautioned that complaints regarding the conduct of some police personnel must be addressed seriously and instructed all officers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism. He also directed that police should not unnecessarily involve themselves in civil disputes, particularly land-related issues, and should closely monitor misinformation and rumours circulating on social media.

 use of CCTNS, e-Sakshya and other applications 

Highlighting the importance of technology in modern policing, the DGP instructed officers to make optimum use of CCTNS, e-Sakshya, ICJS application and other digital platforms. He directed SHOs to upload all relevant digital evidence to the e-Sakshya portal immediately after FIR registration to ensure efficient investigation and prosecution.

He informed that nearly 60–70 percent of CCTNS data updation has been completed across the State. Adilabad, Rajanna Sircilla and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts were appreciated for their performance in CCTNS implementation. In the usage of e-Sakshya, Bhupalpally recorded 55 percent, Siddipet 39 percent and Nalgonda 31 percent. In e-Summons implementation, Kamareddy achieved 92.86 percent while Wanaparthy recorded 92 percent. The DGP directed other districts to improve their performance and effectively utilise these digital platforms.

With cyber crime accounting for nearly 70 percent of crimes registered in the four Hyderabad Commissionerates, the DGP instructed officers to expedite registration and investigation of cyber crime cases. He emphasized continuous capacity building and specialised training for police personnel to keep pace with emerging cyber threats.

Fight Against Narcotics

The DGP reiterated that eliminating narcotics and ganja is one of the Telangana Police's highest priorities. He directed all district police units to intensify anti-narcotics operations and protect the youth from drug abuse. Educational institutions were advised to actively implement Anti-Drug and Safety Committees.

Appreciating the efforts of the EAGLE wing, he noted that awareness programmes, counselling and rehabilitation support have so far been extended to 825 students as part of the anti-drug initiative.

  Arrive Alive' Initiative -  remarkable  Results 

The DGP observed that the State's "Arrive Alive" road safety initiative has yielded encouraging results, leading to a reduction in road accident fatalities across Telangana. He instructed officers to intensify road safety enforcement, strengthen vehicle checking and improve emergency response systems.

He further informed that the State Government will soon integrate drone technology with the Dial-112 emergency response system to enhance operational efficiency. 

 *DGP Announces Rewards for Outstanding services 

The DGP appreciated several police officers for their exceptional performance in the line of duty.

He commended SI Anwar Begum of Metpally Police Station, Jagtial district, for promptly responding to a Dial-100 emergency call and saving the life of a person who attempted suicide following a family dispute.

He also appreciated Police Officer Naresh of Gachibowli Police Station for successfully arresting a Nepali criminal gang.

The DGP congratulated CI Ramakanth, Investigation Officer K. Naveen Kumar and CI Srinivasulu of Boinpally Police Station, Rajanna Sircilla district, for their professional investigation in a murder case that resulted in the conviction of the accused.

Similarly, he appreciated CI Sridhar and Investigation Officer Venkataraja Goud of Shivampet Police Station, Medak district, for conducting a meticulous investigation that led to life imprisonment in a murder case.

Head Constable Vishnu    of Nalgonda district were also commended for displaying exceptional courage in apprehending a most-wanted criminal Srikanth. The DGP announced that all these officers would be honoured with rewards at the DGP Office.

Concluding the meeting, the DGP urged all officers to effectively leverage technology, strengthen professional policing practices and remain committed to delivering prompt, transparent and citizen-friendly policing across Telangana.

Telangana Police Hosts Farewell for Outgoing Chief Secretary, Welcomes Successor

 The Telangana Police upheld its long-standing tradition of bidding farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary, Mr. K. Ramakrishna Rao, and welcoming the incoming Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjay Jaju, by hosting a farewell dinner. The event also marked the retirement of Smt. Suvarna, former Head of the Forest Department, who retired on June 30. The gathering was notable for a rare coincidence, as three officers from the 1991 batch had simultaneously headed their respective departments.




Speaking on the occasion, the DGP recalled his long professional association with Mr. Ramakrishna Rao and the close coordination they shared over the years. He reflected on their journey together in public service and noted that Mr. Ramakrishna Rao's tenure was marked by significant contributions to governance, institutional strengthening and public administration, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, excellence and dedicated service. He wished Mr. Ramakrishna Rao and his family a happy, healthy and fulfilling retired life.

The DGP also conveyed his best wishes to Smt. Suvarna on her retirement, appreciating her distinguished service, and extended his congratulations to Mr. Sanjay Jaju, wishing him success in his new role as Chief Secretary.

Several senior officers shared their memories and experiences of working with the outgoing officers and spoke warmly about their association with the Telangana Police. The evening concluded on a cordial note, marked by camaraderie, fond recollections and goodwill.

DGP C.V. Anand Reviews long pending Reorganisation of Police Stations in Four Commissionerates

 Director General of Police, Telangana, Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, chaired a review meeting on Thursday to discuss and finalise the reorganisation of police stations in the jurisdictions of the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City Police Commissionerates.

The GO regarding this was passed in late December last year but the execution of some aspects remains incompleted leading to confusion in the various commissionerates.



During the meeting, the Commissioners presented proposals relating to the reorganisation of police stations, territorial jurisdiction, administrative requirements and other related issues. The DGP directed that the reorganisation of police station limits should be carried out in accordance with the Government Orders (GOs), taking into consideration the jurisdictions of municipal bodies, revenue divisions and courts.

Emphasising the need for long-term planning, the DGP stated that future urban expansion, population growth and administrative requirements should be taken into account while restructuring police station jurisdictions. He also instructed officials to consider the views of all stakeholders during the process.

The DGP issued specific directions regarding the determination of police station limits in certain areas of Hyderabad city. He stressed that the new jurisdictional boundaries should be finalised in a manner that avoids inconvenience to the public, government departments and the judiciary. He finalised the disputes and field issues after discussion and got them incorporated in the proposals .

Sri C.V. Anand reiterated that the reorganisation of police stations should strengthen people-centric and efficient policing and improve the delivery of police services to the public.
