CVDC in Shamshabad Zone

Mr.Anand at CVDC
As a part of modernization of police stations and establishments, the Cyberabad Police has launched a Crime Vehicle Deposit Centre(CVDC), adjacent to Pahadishareef Police Station, to deposit the seized/abandoned vehicles pertaining to crime cases of all police stations of Shamshabad Zone at one place.Police Commissioner C.V.Anand inaugurated CVDC.

A number of vehicles seized by respective police stations, pertaining to crime, accidents, abandoned arekept in the vicinity of police station at front yard, backyard and other places giving a dismal look, without proper upkeep and maintenance.

There are approximately (310)Four/Three wheelers and (1090)two wheelers seized and lying in (7) police stations of Shamshabad Zone. Whenever a vehicle needs to be tracked, public has to run from pillar to post and contact each and every police station which is a cumbersome process leading to confusion and chaos.

These vehicles dumped in the vicinity of Police Stations, are giving a grim and clumsy look to the police stations and its surroundings and also posing traffic problems bycovering the approach road to P.S. Further, they are prone to security problems viz. theft of tyres, spare parts etc. besides gettingexposed to rain, wind, dust resulting in rusting and complete damage to the vehicles, thereby the complainant/owner losing interest in claiming the vehicles. As there was no centralized database in place, the owners had to contact all police stations to track their vehicles causing immense inconvenience to them. The seized vehicles were also creating parking problem for the staff. Difficulties were faced in identifying the vehicles and presenting in the courts, leading to unwarranted delays in court proceedings.

In view of the above difficulties, as a modernization initiative the Cyberabad Police has identified and earmarked a (6) acres police landadjacent to P.S. PahadeShareef, to deposit the seized vehicles of the (7) Police Stations of Shamshabad Zone.

The vehicle deposit centre has different slots for depositing 4, 3 and 2 wheelers (police station wise) with enough space for easy movement of the vehicles. Each Police Station is allocated a separate area to deposit its seized vehicles, to enable identification of the vehicle with ease. This Vehicle Deposit Centre has compound wall surrounding it, for safety and security. This being a police land, it has minimal maintenance cost.

The depositing of seized vehicles away from the P.S. surroundings gives it a friendly, clean and cordial look, raising the confidence of the complainant/victims approaching the P.S. strengthening the friendly policing approach. An excel database is maintained enabling to easily track/identify the vehicles to produce in the court/return to the owners.

Also, the unused place around the Police Stationsis being utilized for planting saplings/trees to initiate an environmental friendly gesture.

The following improvements are further being carried out:
Providing sophisticated software to maintain the database for vehicle deposited and retrieved, Registration details, case details etc. to enable easy tracking and statistics maintenance.
An Application (Mobile App.) will be developed for general public to enable them to track their vehicle easily.
Providing towing/transportation facilities for seized vehicles to be produced in the court etc.
The Crime Vehicle Deposit Centre (CVDC) is started by Shamshabad Zonal Police under the guidance of C.P.Cyberabad Mr.C.V. Anand.
