Shivaratri, Shab-e-miraj pass off peacefully

 The simultaneous occurrence of two significant religious festivals Shivaratri and Shab-e-meraj(Jagne ki raat)   on the same day  after 36 years presented a unique security challenge for the city police. Nevertheless, the proactive measures and extra precautions taken by the city police resulted in ensuring that the festivals  were celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious manner. 

The city police had an hawk eye on the movements of people and various wings strove day & night  to manage security & traffic arrangements and ensured that there is no clash anywhere during the movements of people of different communities during prayers and processions . 

City Police commissioner Mr.CV Anand and senior echelons were on the field  and were present till 3am. CP Anand conducted surprise checks of sensitive spots in Saidabad, Charminar, and had interactions with the police personnel on duty to assess the situation on the ground.The hectic night was followed by Shivaji processions monitoring today in all the zones.

Canadian officials met CP Anand

 Officials from the Consulate General of Canada in Bangalore and the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi visited the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate and the TSPICCC.

The delegation, which included Mr. Daniel Morency, Consul at the Consulate General of Canada in Bengaluru, Ms. Claude Rochon, Consul at the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi, and Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Senior Consular Program Officer at the High Commission of Canada, met with City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand.

The delegates got a glimpse of state-of-the-art command control system.CP Anand explained about  the working mechanism of the facility   and how it enables the police force to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. 


"The system demonstrates the city's commitment to public safety and the use of technology to enhance law enforcement capabilities. In fact this is in par with other tactical command control centers in many developed countries." the delegates opined.

Prior to their interaction with CP Anand,  the group visited the SHE teams & Bharosa center of Hyderabad City Police. DCP Sneha Mehra briefed them about the incognito services of the SHE teams, the relief & rehabilitation measures, child friendly courts and apprised them about the women safety measures being implemented in the state capital. 

The officials were also highly appreciative of the Telangana Govt for bolstering over all inclusive growth through proper security framework and lauded the services of SHE TEAMS  & Bharosa. We had a good time & opportunity in getting introduced to the culture of the city, they said.

Overall, the meeting was a productive exchange of ideas and information between Canadian officials and the Hyderabad Police Commissioner's office.

CP Anand rewards H-NEW officers

 Ever since the inception EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO , the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing(H-NEW) has excelled in bringing good deterrence amongst  drug peddlers, suppliers. Now the teams got an appreciating pat from the city top brass. City Police commissioner Mr.CV Anand rewarded the H-NEW staff with ‘CASH REWARDS’ for their spectacular performance in controlling the supply and demand of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in Hyderabad city.

In the last one year , the H-NEW has detected 104 cases and apprehended  (13) foreign national Drug Peddlers, (185) Drug Peddlers, (10) transporters, (1075) consumers who are indulging in drug peddling, supply and consumption. Further 3 Nigerian Nationals, 2 Ivory Coast Nationals and 1 Sudan National were deported to their countries.

 

Ms. D. Sunitha Reddy, DCP .Sri Chakravarthy Gummi, DCP -HNEW; Sri P. Ramesh Reddy &  Sri P. Rajesh, Inspectors;  Sri G.S. Daniel & Sri C. Venkat Ramulu, SIs and all 20 other H-NEW staff received cash rewards.

“The stellar performance of H-NEW kept the drug peddlers at bay and dismantled many drug cartels not just in Telangana but in Goa, Mumbai and other cities too. Local peddlers, Inter-state Gangs,International Suppliers , Dark web deals were busted by H-NEW.” Said Mr.Anand.

APPEAL TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

In recent times we have seen several youth/students getting addicted to Drugs, committing crime and involving in other anti-social activities. Several families have become victims of this menace. It is an ardent request from Hyderabad City Police to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information to Police on Phone No. 8712661601 to curtail such anti-social activities and strive for Drug free city.The State Govt has passed orders to create the State level Narcotics Bureau (TNAB) which is in the process of being created to deal with this problem and to care for its citizens

Membership drive & CSR forum to boost HCSC

 City Police commissioner Mr.CV Anand, the honorary chairman of Hyderabad City Security Council(HCSC), chaired HCSC membership meeting in a bid to spur up the existing members and  on board new  members  through strategic connections & networking  – a prime motto to benefit the citizens through initiatives, awareness campaigns and community development etc.,

CP Anand in his address urged all the members to come up with renewed thoughts & energy and apprised them the megacity policing plan initiated by the state government to cater the needs  of the rapid growth of population, economic growth. “Telangana is the only state to sanction Telangana Narcotics Bureau(TNAB)  & Cyber Security Bureau to address the menace of Drug abuse and Cyber Crime and also sanctioned 4000 extra police personnel for better policing and revamping of the policing in the three commissionerates and how the state government had been according top priority to the paradigm of “Peace and Law & order brings about economic growth.”

Anti-narcotics forum can be be initiated in HCSC  to spread awareness on the dangers of drug abuse, he said. He accorded instant approval to set up CSR forum to reach out to all corporates to improve the inflow of funds to streamline and enhance the HCSC activities. 

Awareness videos on women safety, Cyber security and road safety made by the HCSC team were launched on this occasion.  

Mr.Chaitanya, secretary general- HCSC,  in his welcome address  briefed the members about several forums such as women, cyber, traffic & physical security and the activities being done by each one of them .  Mr.AR Srinivas, Addl.CP(Crimes & SIT) , who had been officiating as convenor of the council, apprised the attendees about the good work done by the council during the pandemic hit years. 

Seamless integration of forums with other govt agencies, aligning common objectives, necessity of a robust HCSC secretariat, organising webinars & hackthons within the scope of HCSC and other key issues were discussed during the meeting.

Later all the attendees toured the TSPICCC building and visited key sections including the disaster management center, musuem, Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate   etc. Sri Mujahid Alam, Sri Bhaskar Reddy, Sri Shrawan Kumar, Sri Rajashekar Reddy , Smt Khyati , Sri Ramakrishna rao , Sri satish babu , Smt Supriya , Geeta goti, Sri Suresh Kumar and other members attended the meeting.

Remain vigilant and plan logistics: instructs CP ahead of events & festivals

 Ahead of series of key events including the Formula E race to be held on Feb 11th & new secretariat inauguration scheduled on Feb 17th and assembly session from tomorrow and multi-religious  festivals(Shivaratri, Shivaji Jayanthi, Jagne ke raath)  to be observed  in 3rd week of this month, city police commissioner Mr.Cv Anand held a video conference with all DCsP, ACsP, SHOs of Law&order,traffic and other wings to review the secuirty, traffic arrangements.

CP Anand issued a slew of instructions and exhorted to remain alert.  The top brass instructed  to chalk out clear Traffic management and diversion plans to facilitate seamless movement for both general public, VVIPs & dignitaries.

"Zero error access control at assembly  should remain as our  top priority and ensure we have adequate force deployed at key intersections, lanes & bylanes etc.," he said.


"Traffic officers should take up digital campaigns and other form of campaigns across all platforms to sensitize people about the diversions that would be imposed  in connection with Formula-E race." he added.

All staff officers were instructed to make necessary logistical arrangements and brief their respective teams. Directions were given to social media monitoring teams to keep a tab on rumour mongers.

Jt.CP(SB) Mr.Viswaprasad has apprised all the attendees about the key happenings and the precautions to be taken.

Formula E race: CP reviews security & traffic measures

 While Hyderabad gears up to host India’s first Formula E race  scheduled to take place on picturesque  track around Hussainsagar on February 11, the Hyderabad City Police revs up finalising security and traffic arrangements. Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), in collaboration with the Telangana government will organise the mega event that is expected to draw a footfall of 21,000 visitors from all over the globe.

City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand, accompanied by his deputies and the event organisers inspected the 2.8 km race track, audience stands, entry and exit points. He reviewed the preparedness of the organisers and other security aspects.Through a media briefing CP Anand said that around 575 police personnel will be deployed to man security and traffic. He appealed the general public to cooperate with the police and urged them to use metro services. A total of 16 stands, 7 gates and 4 foot over bridges have been put up in place to facilitate free crowd movement.

Announcing the traffic diversions he said that NTR marg will be closed on Feb 5th (Sunday)  to facilitate the expedition of pending works on the track and other arrangements. The actual diversion begins on Feb 7th and ends on Feb 12th and a notification will be issued soon, he said while requesting the public to note the diversions carefully and avoid movements on this side of the city . He appealed that the metro maybe used gainfully by commuters to avoid inconvenience 

 Since the assembly sessions are scheduled to start from Feb 3rd and the secretariat inauguration on Feb 17th, the city police  chief said that officers will be stationed to ensure free movement of dignitaries, VVIPS  and added that there will be no restriction for free movement of secretariat employees, labour and material.

“Hyderabad joins in on the action for the first time.Hosting this  flagship event in the State demonstrates the innovation, ambition and determination of the state government to accelerate change towards an electric future. The organisers prefer to conduct this event in the heart of the city to bring the next gen electric cars close to public. City police will extend all support and ensure security measures are elevated to the maximum.” Said Mr.CV Anand.
