DGP Mr.CV Anand attended the Combined Graduation Parade at the Air Force Academy, Dindigul. He attended primarily to relive the nostalgia of having accompanied his parents to witness his own brother, Chama Vinod Kumar, pass out as a young Air Force fighter pilot in 1979, when he was just 11 years old. His brother tragically lost his life in a MiG-21 fighter aircraft crash in November 1983.
Hon'ble Union Defence Minister Sri Rajnath Singh took the salute and addressed the gathering. Mr.Anand witnessed the impressive parade and march past of the cadets, followed by the thrilling air display by helicopters, the Sukhoi-30, and the Surya Kiran aerobatic team. He also met Air Chief Marshal Sri A.P. Singh and former Air Chief Marshals Sri Vivek Ram Chaudhari and Sri N.A.K. Browne.
"All in all , it was a great nostalgic experience for me to relive this after 47 years and felt tears welling out thinking of my brother !" wrote Mr.Anand on his X account.
