Sriramnavami Processions passed on peacefully

 Meticulous planning, supervision by senior officers of HCP and  coordination with other departments the perfect execution of commands by  the field personnel ensured that the Sri Ramanavami Shoba Yatra  procession ended on a peaceful note here on Thursday.

Thanks to the technology which helped in live  monitoring the procession, crowd movement and traffic flow.City police commissioner Mr.CV Anand paid a field visit to the entire procession stretch in the morning and encouraged the utsav committee to start their procession early which it finally did at 1345 hours . The Anand Singh and MLA Raja Singh processions followed and weaved their way through the the Mangalhat , Begum Bazaar Chhatri, Siddiambar Bazaar, Gowliguda , Koti areas and finally reached the Hanuman vyamshala amidst huge and boisterous crowds .

All the events were watched closely from the the joint command control center in Basheer Bagh where in officials of RTC, R&B, GHMC, EMRI, Fire, Electricity were present.

CV Anand monitored the live drone footage, CCTV feeds and radio communications and gave timely instructions to the field officers. Senior officers descended to field and ensured that the procession moved on.

Around thousands of police persons were deployed for Bando bust in sensitive areas.  

“The procession was completed peacefully with the cooperation of organisers, other govt departments ,devotees and general public.” Said CP Anand.

Community CCTVs inaugurated in Central Zone

 The Community CCTV projects & self-driven interest amongst general public to install CCTVs, which suffered setback due to economic crisis during the pandemic hit years, are now revived in the city with renewed vigour with the inauguration of new CCTVs in central zone limits here on Wednesday.

In an event organised by the central Zone at Thyagarayagana Sabha, City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand attended as the chief guest and inaugurated 77 CCTV cameras amid the thunderous applause from residents, generous donors and public representatives. The cost of the project was around 25 Lakhs and the contribution was made by 9 good Samaritans as part of the community CCTV project. The 77 cameras were installed at 34 different locations in Chikkadpally, Musheerabad & Gandhinagar limits covering crime prone areas and other vital junctions.

 

Addressing the gathering, the city police chief attributed the dip in crime rate, improved women safety  and detection of property cases to the improved electronic surveillance in Hyderabad. He said the Government had the foresight in  according top priority in  allocating resources to the police department & setting up a world class command control center, which is now at the verge of integrating 10 Lakh camera feeds, police commissioner said that  peace, sound Law & order -served as the fulcrum & set a strong base which made the city & state to excel in economic development and in all spheres.

Mentioning the Telangana Public Safety Act, he apprised the attendees about the importance of CCTVs not just in crime controlling but also in other social, economic aspects and appealed to restart fixing cameras in their premises like a movement.


 “Efforts are underway to fix the defunct cameras through D-CAMO. ” he added.

“Right from setting up the first ever live transmission CCTV in 2002 in Necklaceroad  to executing numerous CCTV projects post formation of Telangana to reviving CCTV projects & establishing D-CAMO, our unit leader has designed & developed numerous CCTVs networks.” Said the central zone police while proposing vote of thanks.

CP Anand appreciated the efforts of the central zone police and felicitated the donors.Each one of them were complimented with a memento and appreciation certificate. A 10 minute documentary “On the importance of CCTVs and real-world incidents.” was screened on the occasion.

Top brass felicitates SI for saving 16 lives

 Hyderabad city police commissioner Mr.CV Anand on wednesday felicitated Panjagutta inspector Harishchandra Reddy and Banjarahills sub-inspector S.Karunakar Reddy for their efforts in saving the lives of ABVP cadres who tried to lay seige to Pragathi Bhavan on tuesday.

Karunakar Reddy, an ex-officer of the Indian navy alone saved lives of 16 activists when the vehicle transporting them went out of control after the driver developed seizures behind the wheel. Reddy who was accompanying the detainees jumped from the vehicle, ran ahead of it, entered the driver's cabin, took control and stopped the vehicle. Meanwhile, Harishchandra Reddy came to the rescue of one of the workers who collapsed while protesting. 

After giving him CPR, Harishchandra Reddy carried him on his shoulders, put him in an auto-rickshaw to be shifted to a nearby hospital where the worker recovered after treatment.

CP Anand held VC ahead of multi-religious festivals

 Ahead of  Ramadan month and Sriramanavami, Hanuman jayanthi festivals falling in the same month  , City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand held a video conference with all SHOs, patrol car & blue colt staff officers & above rank officers, crucial wings and issued key instructions to ensure all the festivals conclude smoothly.

To avoid inconvenience to devotees and commuters, Mr. Anand stressed on crowd monitoring and traffic management at religious places, with officers instructed to remain vigilant and enhance visible policing to render swift response. Joint inspections with other departments along the procession routes were also mandated.

Furthermore, SHOs and DIs were instructed to stretch beyond their working hours during the festive month. The Commissioner also stressed the need to keep a close tab on hate mongers and netizens who post blasphemous or instigating posts on social media. Filing cases and expediting issuance of notices to the perpetrators were the directives given.

In addition, he also  instructed all officers to minimize delays in the movement of processions and monitor them closely. “Bind over all communal rowdies, suspects sector wise & PS wise.Revive peace committees and on board members who have genuine intent to serve the community. ” He added. 

CP Anand reviewed the Fitcop stats and exhorted all officers to focus on health & fitness. All HCP officers should be on board & follow the diet & exercise instructions received through the app. He urged them to prefer millets over rice and make it a habit to exercise every day.

The city police chief also apprised  about the new D-CAMO (Drones & Cameras Maintenance Organisation). He stated that it will coordinate with all PSs to take up repairs and maintenance. Targets were fixed PS wise to fix new CCTVs in strategic locations and grey points.


The City Police Commissioner emphasized the importance of anti-sabotage checks, liaising with other emergency services during the upcoming festivals. He urged everyone to work together to ensure that the celebrations are conducted peacefully and without any untoward incidents.

Annual sports meet concluded

 The Hyderabad City Police 4-day sports meet, held at Shiv Kumar lal police stadium, came to a triumphant conclusion today with a spectacular closing ceremony. The event was graced by Sri K.Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Finance, who presided over the ceremony as the chief guest.He received the  guard of honour from all the sports contingents. The highlight of the day was the tug of war between the chief guest team and the police commissioner team, which saw the chief guest team emerge as the winners 2-1.

Fencing was a special attraction of the event, while the 100-meter sprints and relays by men and women left the audience spellbound. The scintillating dance performances and patriotic songs added to the excitement of the day.K9 units stellar search,fighting, guard skills enthralled the attendees.

The closing ceremony also included the distribution of trophies and medals to the winners of various events. CAR headquarters was the overall winner in the 4 day competition and the CSW-Taskforce team stood second . Constable Revanth of CAR and WPC Sahiti of South east zone stood as the fastest man and woman of HCP. 

Sri K.Ramakrishna Rao, in his speech, applauded the efforts of the Hyderabad City Police in organizing the sports meet and emphasized the importance of sports in our lives.

Lauding the competitive spirit CP Anand congratulated the winners. The  contingents drenching in rain which started towards the end reflects the hardships of our duty today and everyday, he said.  He thanked all the participants  for making the event a grand success.

Around 2300 men & women of HCP pariticipated in different sports disiciplines in the four day event.

HCP annual sports meet starts off on a grand note

 The four -day annual sports meet of HCP got off to a colourful start with  renowned actor Mr.Adivi Sesh and City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand inaugurating the much awaited calendar event at Shiva Kumarlaal Police stadium, Goshamahal. The event aims to promote physical fitness, identify sports talent  and camaraderie among the police personnel.

The chief guest Adivi Sesh, who played the role of police officer in several & won national acclaim for his performance in the movie “Major “that portrays the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan  who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks , was given warm reception. The officers & the guest received guard of honour from the L&O, SB, Traffic, Homeguards, Ministerial teams amidst huge fan fare, drums & bigil. Later he lit the torch and formally  announced the commencement of sports meet and spoke . 

Addressing the police force, CP  Anand stressed the importance of physical fitness in the line of duty, and how it can enhance their performance and reduce stress.Reciting the disturbing health stats captured through Fitcop app vis a vis BP and Diabetes , he exhorted them to avoid resistance to follow up through the FitCop App and urged them to prioritize their health and well-being through diet & exercise and cover family members too.

“ All talents we spot here will make their way to state sports meet and the All India National police sports meet.” he said. Mr.Anand took note of the Actor’s perfection and effort in portraying the police characters and thanked him.

Adivi Sesh  lauded the services of the police and expressed his admiration for their dedication and sacrifice. He expressed his happiness in being a part of this celebration on Unnikrishnan's birthday. “I’m here to celebrate with you all. The efforts that you put day-in & day-out makes the civilians to pursue their dreams and stay safe.” Said the down to earth actor.

The city police chief along with his deputies and the chief guest had shared lighter moments & played Basketball,Volleyball  and Kabaddi to encourage the participants. The annual sports meet includes various competitions such as athletics, football, cricket, and volleyball, basket ball. Teams will also  compete in Badminton, running and other sports & games.  

"This event not only promotes physical fitness but also boosts morale and encourages teamwork. Through this sports meet we will continue to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among our staff." Said Jt.CP CAR.

The sports meet will conclude on Saturday  with an award ceremony to felicitate the winners.

Womens Day Celebrations in TSPICCC

 The Hyderabad City Police conducted the International Women’s Day-2023 celebrations in their auditorium in ICCC Building Banjara Hills. 

After felicitating 117 women employees from the ranks of Women Homeguards (WHGS) to Women Inspectors(WINSPR) covering all Law&Order Zones, Traffic, Ministerial Staff, CCS, SB etc. The CP Hyderabad exhorted them to take up more field roles in Law&Order and Traffic and not shy away from hard duties by preferring postings in CCS, SB, CID, Intelligence etc. Quoting Milinda Gates who said “The thing women have yet to learn is, nobody gives you power, you just take it”, the CP said that after posting Ms.Madhulatha as the first women SHO ever in 174 year old history of Hyderabad City Police, last year March 8th International Women’s Day very few women officers have come forward to take up the role of SHO, there are only two women SHOs in Traffic Ms.Dhanalaxmi and Ms.Jyotsna. He pointed out that fresh women SIs of 2020 batch are queuing up in his office requesting for deputations to lighter wings from Law&Order and Traffic.   

  He said that 11.5% of 18432 personnel working in Hyderabad City Police are Women and it is important that despite all the difficulties and multi roles which a women has to perform in society as a mother, wife and an officer, they should come forward bravely and break these barriers of gender inequality and discrimination and change traditional mindsets. The CP said that International Women’s Day is an occasion to recognise the role of women specifically and discuss about them. "Embrace Equity" run held by SHE teams of city police

 In the run up to the International Women’s Day on March 8th, the SHE teams of Hyderabad City Police organised “Embrace Equity”  run at People’s Plaza , Neckalace road here on Monday. About 5000 women of various walks of life participated in the run that was held over distances of 2 Km and 5 Km. The city police chief welcomed the dignitaries. 

Telangana Chief secretary Smt. Santhi Kumari who attended as chief guest flagged off the run along with the DGP Mr.Anjani Kumar and City police commissioner Mr.CV Anand. The pleasant  cool breeze sweeping across Tank Bund and the Zumba, dance & warm up sessions held by the women only band enthused the participants. 

Addressing the crowd, the first woman chief secretary said that “SHE teams is the name in the entire country in terms of ensuring the safety of women.” “Explore all opportunities out there.” She encouraged. The DGP took the opportunity to say that “Hyderabad is the safest city in the country” and retraced the journey & services of SHE teams. 

CP Anand motivated  the participants and assured that the safety of woman always remains top priority. He lauded the services of women protection squad and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the officers in making the event a grand success.

  The messages by the dignitaries galvanised  the participants who had gathered to show their solidarity for the cause of women empowerment and safety. Later the chief guest presented medals to the winners and congratulated them.

City Police Organizes First-Ever Wrestling Competition to Promote Community Policing

 The "Kothwal Kesari" - wrestling championship being organised by  South Zone police concluded on a grand note here at Quli Qutub Shah Stadium on sunday evening.City police chief Mr.CV Anand attended as chief guest for the closing ceremony and presented prizes,certificates and medals  to the winners.

   Under the ambit of community policing, for the first time the city  police has organized wrestling competition to foster positive and productive police-community relations.

  The championship had a total of around 260 participants including 14 women and 6 police personnel. The championship started on March 3rd, and over the course of the following days, wrestlers from different parts of the region showcased their skills in the different weight categories. The  event had weight categories of 50kg, 57kg, 65kg, 74kg, 86kg, and 97kg. The women's event had a weight category of 80-120kg.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. CV Anand said, "I am extremely pleased to see the success of the "Kothwal Kesari" wrestling championship, and it's great to see community policing initiatives like this that promote healthy competition and foster a sense of community spirit. The championship is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the south zone  and participants."

"Kothwal kesari & Kothwal cricket cup will be annual events here after. We will tie up with wrestling federation to make sure the points you  score add up to your rankings." announced the top brass.

The different grappling-type techniques and the striving of the wrestlers to obtain a position of advantage over their opponents enthralled the crowds.

CV Anand Flagged off 10k run to promote financial literacy & safe banking

 Upon the invitation of Smt.K.Nikhila, RBI  Regional Director for Telangana,  City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand flagged off ‘Janbhagidari’ 10K run at People's Plaza, Necklace road organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The run was organized in the backdrop of India assuming the G-20 presidency from December 1st, 2022 to November 2023, with the second Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion to be held on March 6th and 7th in Hyderabad.

 

The main intention of the run was to create public outreach and promote financial literacy amongst the public, emphasizing safe and secure banking transactions.  The City Police &  RBI believes that by creating awareness and promoting financial literacy, citizens can make informed decisions and stay safe from the cyber fraudsters.

The event was a huge success, with a large number of participants from various parts of the city, including government officials, students, and members of the general public.

Police Commissioner held key review meeting on crime stats, new initiatives

 City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand  held a long high-level review meeting with all addl dcp and above rank officers to discuss a range of important matters related to public safety and security & other administrative issues.

The review was done on all the crimes pending for want of arrests, investigation, FSL reports , charge sheets and DCP s were asked to specifically focus on them. There was discussion on the reorganisation of Hyderabad City Police and the new accomodation which is required , the several CCTV projects ,the working status of the cameras and targets were set for each SHO and DCP to instal new cameras. A new wing called D-CAMO(Drones & Cameras Maintenance Organisation) is now instated to deal with all CCTV camera & Drone  repairs, projects, execution which will be headed by an Addl.DCP/ACP rank officer which is further structured into 4  sub-wings. An independent third party audit will be carried out across the city to identify the grey spots lacking CCTV coverage & to check the working condition of the existing cameras. “ Let us sensitize the public on the significance of CCTVs in crime prevention & detection.” Said Mr.Anand.

 

CP Anand   expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming response to the online amusement licenses system, which received over 1183  applications in the past few weeks. Taking cue of this, IT cell was tasked to bring in more police services like the issue of Arms licenses online for the convenience of the public. 

Ahead of festivals viz., Holi, Shab-E-Barat, Ramzan , SriRama Navami and Hanuman Jayanthi – CP Anand instructed to bind over communal and Rowdy elements. Instate new peace committees with more youngsters on board, he said.

He also instructed his deputies  to initiate more programs towards health and wellness through the FitCop program, and to support the homes of the fallen heroes of the force, the need for CPR education in light of the death of a young and fit constable recently.

Furthermore, the meeting delved in detail about the performance of patrols and blue colts,  the effective functioning of the night round system , progress  of  2023 action plans.All the  DCPs were directed to closely monitor the station functioning  and were told to adhere to protocols in lock-up custodies. HCSC activities, E-office implementation, and other issues were discussed during the meeting.

 Mr. Richard Ian Pugh-Cook, Regional Coordinator for SOCnet South Asia, National Security Directorate (NSD) and Mrs.Nalini Raghuraman, Political Economy Advisor for AP & TS at the British Deputy High Commission in Hyderabad, visited the TSPICCC and met with Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand. 

During the visit, delegates  were given an overview of the operations of the Command Control Center and the latest security & IT  initiatives being implemented by the Hyderabad City Police. The officials  commended the collaborative approach being taken by the police force and its partners in addressing security challenges faced by the city and also appreciated the efforts in ensuring a peaceful environment for businesses and investors to thrive.

CP Anand  thanked Mr. Richard  and Mrs. Nalini Raghuraman for their visit and expressed his commitment to working with international partners in enhancing the security and safety of the city and lauded their proactive approach in building  relationships with local partners in the region.
