C. V. Anand, IPS, DGP (HoPF), TG, visited Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy Telangana Police Academy (RBVRR TGPA), Hyderabad, after assuming charge as DGP, Telangana. On his arrival at the Academy, Sri C. V. Anand, IPS, DGP (HoPF), Telangana, was received by Smt. Abhilasha Bisht, IPS, Director, RBVRR Telangana Police Academy.Subsequently, the DGP was accorded Guard of Honour at the Academy.
During the visit, the DGP inspected various facilities and infrastructure of the Academy, including the Unit Hospital, Administrative Section, Auditorium, Classrooms,Messes, Kreeda Bhavan, Firing Range, parade grounds and other important buildings and training facilities within the campus.Thereafter, Sri C. V. Anand, IPS, conducted a comprehensive review meeting of the Academy and interacted with the officers and staff. During the review, Director, TGPA, presented a detailed overview of the Academy, including ongoing induction and in-service training programmes, training syllabus, institutional mandates, infrastructure and building facilities, workshops and seminars conducted, welfare activities undertaken and key challenges being faced by the Academy.
Addressing the officers and staff, Sri C. V. Anand, IPS, appreciated and
congratulated the officers involved in imparting training at the Academy and emphasized that RBVRR TGPA is one of the finest police training institutions in the country. He stressed the importance of teamwork, coordination and institutional spirit among officers and staff for achieving excellence in police training.
Recalling his tenure at NISA, a premier training institution, the DGP underscored the critical importance of training in professional policing and highlighted the need for strengthening all police training institutions across the State, including PTCs, DTCs and other training establishments, by ensuring adequate infrastructure and institutional support.
The DGP assured full support from Chief Office for effective conduct of training programmes, including timely approvals and other institutional requirements. He specifically emphasized the need for systematic scheduling and completion of mandatory courses for police personnel across ranks and assured that all necessary assistance from Chief Office would be extended in this regard.
Sri C. V. Anand, IPS, further directed the Academy officers to focus on priority areas such as NDPS enforcement, cybercrime investigation, Motor Vehicles Act, road safety and awareness generation in these domains to strengthen operational policing capabilities.
The DGP also stated that the Telangana Police Officers’ Retreat would be
institutionalized and conducted annually during the last week of November (or) first week of December. He further emphasized that the Telangana Conference for Women in Police should be organized every year to strengthen reforms, inclusivity and institutional support mechanisms for women personnel in the Police Department.
Senior officers and staff of the Academy were present during the visit.
