195 IPS probationers of 74 RR visited TSPICCC

 As many as 195 IPS probationers of the 74th  RR  toured the state-of the-art Telangana State Integrated Command Control Center and Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate to get awareness and functioning of TSPICCC and to understand how technology plays a key part in policing.

The probationers  on arrival at TSPICCC were briefed on the engineering features of the building and given an overview of the technology fusion center, crisis management center,  CCTVs & analytics features of the Command Control Center. The trainees got an exposure to police operations, technical, administrative and other coordination aspects.  

CP Anand explained the history of city police, kotwal system since 1847 and the challenges being faced by Hyderabad City Police and outlined the importance of adapting IT technologies in policing. The CP touched upon sensitive communal and the social issues as well which police has to tackle. Through a PowerPoint presentation he explained how the state government has paid special attention to the paradigm of “peace and law and order brings about economic growth “ and given such facilities for the Telangana police to show results. He explained the novel initiatives such as H-NEW,SMASH, Operation “ROPE”, Bharosa  and recited the modernisation of police department post formation of Telangana. 

He asked the probationers to remember the significance of the time they are entering their career when policing is undergoing transformation at all levels.He asked them to keep pace with the developments in the world of Cyber Crime and the threat of Narcotics to our future generation . 

The teams of HCP also explained the concept of war room, integration of IT applications and how all government agencies work in tandem to deliver public service and offer swift response during calamities.

“The over all impact of the TSPICCC, Hon’ble CMs brainchild, is being realised across multiple facets of policing, internal security, crisis management and urban development.” Said Mr.CV Anand.

The probationers were enthused by the grandeur of the iconic structure. The trainee officers thereafter visited the  museum, helipad and other wings in the building.

DRDL delegation calls on CP Hyderabad

 A six member delegation of Defence research & development lab(DRDL) visited the HCP commissionerate and the integrated command and control center here at Banjara hills.DCP SMIT & DCP ICCC  escorted the delegation.

 The officials of DRDL  were explained on how the state-of-the art facility  aggregates information across multiple applications, CCTVs,  traffic sensors deployed across the state.The tech team of HCP also explained on how the application  smartly works in the backend to trigger alerts on crowd gathering, geo-fence alerts, un-attended baggage, traffic congestion etc., 

The delegation was then taken on a tour of the premises, which included the helipad, auditorium. They have  explored other key sections in the building state emergency operational centre (Dial 100), multi-agency operation center  and the technology fusion center.

 While touring the building , the delegates were briefed on the evolution of city police  functioning  and the modernisation of police organisation after the formation of Telangana.

Later they called on the city police chief Mr.CV Anand and presented a memento. Welcoming the delegation, CP Anand  said that he was happy to receive them.

CP Anand inaugurates Central Zone DCP office

 City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand inaugurated the new office of DCP central zone(L&O) here at Traffic Complex, Nampally. This move caters the needs of the ever growing staff officers & public visiting the office.

After the shifting of police commissioner’s office from Basheerbagh to TSPICC, Banjarahills – the city police chief has reallocated the space to few unit offices and made internal adjustments for administrative convenience to boost functioning, look & feel of the unit offices and facilitate better public engagement. Also an addition in the staff strength over the years and increased foot-fall of public visiting the office have given rise to space shortage at the DCP office.

To address these issues the building has been renovated. The ground floor houses the offices of DCP central zone, Addl.DCP(CZ) , work stations for tech teams etc., Visitor friendly design, comfortable waiting area, are some of the key features of this facility. Since the central zone deals with more agitations and protests compared to any other zone, the top brass strategically strengthened the office infra for better management of Law & Order.

“Public convenience remains as our focal point always. This new facility has reception center, other citizen friendly facilities.We  will make this facility more feature rich in future.” Said CP Anand.

Being the first DCP of central zone, Mr.Anand  felt nostalgic and narrated  how the central zone was carved out from the then 4 L&O zones in 2002. Sharing the pics of those days, he fondly remembered the former CP and other colleagues.

Kotwal inaugurates HCP stalls at Numaish

 City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand inaugurated various stalls of Hyderabad police set up at Hyderabad’s iconic industrial exhibition – Numaish, here on Wednesday.Speaking on the occasion, Anand pointed out that these stalls gives an oppurtunity to the citizens to  get an insider look of the state of the art technology used by  Hyderabad City police in traffic management and the services offered by various other wings.

“People visiting the exhibition can have a friendly interaction with the staff available at the stall and educate themselves with  traffic rules, road safety.” He said.Addressing the gathering, the top brass stressed on the importance of road safety and opined that the road sense should be inculcated from childhood.

 HCP chief Anand shared his memories of visiting Numaish as a child and said that multiple  visits are a must to do justice to the gargantuan fair. “Numaish is a shopaholic's paradise and  integral to the culture of Hyderabad.Being a regular feature ever year, this exhibition facilitates trade.” He said. He made the students to have a glimpse of the original numaish feel through the demo of  old styled toys such as pitpiti, lailappa, buddi ke baal and tasted the  confectionaries along with them etc., 

SHE teams, CCTV cameras  and various crime teams were deployed to closely watch suspicious persons in the exhibition grounds. Visitors made a beeline to HTP & H-NEW stalls. While the  HTP  stall showcased the road safety signs, achievements, Laser speed guns, body worn cameras,  and other devices , the H-NEW stalls emphasized on the ill effects of drug abuse, importance of ADCs in colleges  and publicised the helplines, tip off lines. 

CP Anand appreciated  the traffic officers, exhibition society members for setting up the stalls.

New action plan for 2023

 Through an overarching action plan for this year, the Hyderabad City Police contemplates to advance the bold vision to enhance the safety & security in the state capital.In a meeting chaired by City police commissioner Mr. CV Anand here at CCS building, Basheerbagh all L&O, traffic, taskforce, H-NEW DCsP and other wings have presented their respective plan of actions along with pre-set timelines to achieve the set targets. 

While the initial scope of the meeting discussed on general issues like crime prevention & detection, pendency clearances, enhancing visible policing- the meeting quickly expanded its focus to address a wider range of interconnected challenges affecting all citizens, from drug abuse to cyber crime and women safety to effective surveillance.

In this year, cyber crime wing of HCP is all set to improve capacity building, instate cyber crime investigative support center, hand holding PS staff to tackle cyber crimes investigation. Formal approvals for procuring latest softwares, gadgets were also accorded during this meeting. 

CP Anand has instructed all zonal DCPs to launch ADCs in all college within a month and schools by this year end. 

The Action plan proposes several goals and initiatives - to be advanced through additional funding, police infra upgradations, enhancing internal operations.With different religious festivals , processions coinciding on the same dates, focus has been extended to strenghthen community relations, reorganising peace committees with proactive youth on board.

Significant IT upgrades are in pipeline such as leveraging  artifical intelligence, chat bots, maintenance of digital library and deployment of enterprise system in all units of HCP.

Drug manufacturing units, monitoring the precursor chemicals, invoking PD act on erring offenders,deporation of foreigners are the  key strategic strides that H-NEW will take-up in this year.

Office digitalisation & automation, effective leverage of social media to drive campaigns, timely disposal of applications, city police reorganisation,traffic maanagement, improve CCTVs network and coverage and other aspects were discussed during this meeting.The top brass exhorted all  senior officers to lead from the front in their respective assignments

New Year celebrations at TSPICCC

 City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand extended New year  greetings to all the hard working men & women of city police. He graced the new year celebrations held at the auditorium, TSPICCC organised by the ministerial staff, IT cell and police officers association.

Addressing the staff officers he urged them to focus on health and outlined several welfare measures launched in recent times including Fit Cop. “Ditch up the unhealthy food.We will soon set up a canteen which is part of our long-term plan to support healthier diet and lifestyle.” he announced.

He urged all unit heads to come up with an action plan for this year to make a headway in effective policing.

 

“2022  it’s a momentous year for HCP.Through liaising and excellent coordination   we were able to tackle all challenging situations.The inauguration of TSPICCC reminds the achievements. Let us  take pride and rejoice it  and work proactively for the  commitments made for the future.” Said CP Anand.

“This year is going to be the year of automation in our internal processes and file works. Record keeping, digitisation of old records must be completed.” he added.  CP Anand also apprised the ministerial staff on the importance of fine tuning internal resources and exhorted them to be proactive  to carry out the upcoming reorganization exercise and stabilisation. 

Shuttle buses from metro station to TSPICCC, declaration of probation ontime, timely clearance of personnel matters and other assurances were given by the senior echelons on this occasion. 

Addl.CP(L&O), Mr. Vikram singh Mann IPS lauded the staff for working 24/7 to keep the city safe. Keep up the good work in the coming year, he said.
