Coordination meeting held with community members ahead of Bakrid

 Ahead of Bakrid, Hyderabad City police commissioner Mr.CV Anand held a coordination meeting with GHMC & animal husbandry department officers, Muslim clerics, Qureshis at Salar Jung Museum. In the cordial tone meeting, the Muslim clerics and the public representatives appealed to their brethren to dispose the animal viscera properly to keep the streets clean and cooperate with the police. “Its our collective responsibility to upheld the Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb of our city and maintain peace.” said the peace committee members. 

GHMC Joint Commissioner Smt.Sailaja apprised the meeting about the sanitation measures being done up by GHMC. Additional sanitation teams and garbage collecting vehicles will be deployed in wards and masjids. “ Garbage bags will be kept ready,  and all our officers will be at your service,” she said.

The attendees assured to cooperate with city police and comply the safety instructions shared by the police. Addressing the meeting, City police commissioner Mr. CV Anand assured that only police personnel, GHMC and animal husbandry staff will man the check posts. “Instructions were given to all officers to take foolproof security and traffic management measures. Patrolling will be intensified and the force will be on stand to.” he said. 

“Comprising all department officers- Local, zonal, and commissionerate level coordination groups were formed for better liaising,” he concluded. 

The officials also took note of the problems reported during the meeting and assured resolving at the earliest.

Youth led anti-drugs awareness campaign ends on a grand note

 On the International Day Against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, the youth led  3 day Anti-drug state wide awareness campaign , jointly organised  Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau(TSNAB) and the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons(DWCDS), ended on a grand note here at Shourya  convention center at   Yousufguda batallion   with several students and artists joining the occasion to  denounce, inform and raise awareness about this scourge in various forms.

The massive campaign witnessed the bubbling youth’s active engagement and echoed an astounding message across  the state across  in all  platforms about the dangers of drugs and the  devastating consequences of addiction. TSNAB  successfully spearheaded the campaign tailored to the youth demographic, through  interactive workshops, dialogues, and engaging visual content and tone that resonated with the latter.

Chief guest Hon’ble Home Minister Janab  Mohammed Mahmood Ali lauded the services of the TSNAB and the state police and retraced the Govt’s resolve and the measures taken to root out the menace. 

Actress Ms.Krithi Shetty addressing the buzzing youth shared that she was happy to vocal about this noble cause of awareness. “Good friends never force you to try drugs.”  She said while referring to the negative impacts of peer pressure.

DGP Mr.Anjani Kumar, Mr.CV Anand, (Director TSNAB & CP-Hyderabad)   and other dignitaries urged to the youth to “Saynotodrugs” and inspired them with impactful speeches. The campaign left an indelible impact on the community. 

Renowned artists Ms.Kavya(hula hoop and flow artist), Telugu wrapper Pranav Changaty, Vyshnavi and team, Mahaa project band  showcased their exceptional talents, contributing to the awareness campaign through various art forms. The mesmerizing performances captivated the audience.

The Chief guest also presented rewards to the winners and the teams of TSNAB, DWCDS and released a book on this occasion.

Graffiti murals convey the message against drugs

 On an exhilarating  Sunday, the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) continued to captivate and inspire the enthusiastic youth through art-centric approach, as part of its ongoing Anti-drugs statewide awareness campaign. In this  captivating  initiative, TSNAB collaborated with the students pursuing fine arts in Hyderabad Central University and JNTU. The youngsters adorned the Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University’s campus wall with captivating visuals and impactful messages, serving as a visual reminder of the perils of drug abuse. 

As part of the awareness drive in the run up to the International Anti Narcotics Day on June 26 th , the graffiti wall instantly became a focal point of attraction, drawing the attention of the commuters  who were passing by and sparked conversations. 

Mr.CV Anand(Director TSNAB & CP-Hyderabad) along with Smt.Shailaja, Director- DWCDS and Mr.Sitaramarao,  Vice-Chancellor of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open university interacted with the students who explained them the underlying theme, and the art work. They were  appreciated for channeling their creativity and passion into a powerful medium of expression to create awareness.

“Telangana is one of the few states in India which have a separate narcotics bureau separately to focus on narcotics enforcement. This bureau, formed a month ago, will  enforce all anti-narcotics laws across the state.” Said Mr.Anand while addressing the students.

“Referring to the Narcotics Control Bureau stats, he said that 11.5 crore are affected in India, and  urged everyone to be vigilant. “ he said. We must act now, he added. Explaining the tough stance of the State Govt against substance abuse, he reiteriated that TSNAB will intensify its activities throughout the state and throughout the year 

“Through striking imagery, , intricate designs the students created a vibrant graffiti wall describing the dangers of drug abuse.” Said  Mr.Anand.

Mr.Sitaramarao, VC retraced  the grave consequences of drug abuse on all levels in the community structure and   urged the youngsters to abstain from bad habits.  Smt.Shailaja, Director- DWCDS assured that their department will work in tandem with TSNAB.To the conclusion, CP Anand presented rewards and appreciation certificates to the students.

TSNAB launches 3 day state wide awareness campaign

 Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau(TSNAB) launches the three-Day State wide Campaign in Collaboration with Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons. This momentous campaign orchestrated by TSNAB , held at the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and control center  (TSPICCC), aims to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking, raise awareness, educate the youngsters and break the stigma - coinciding with the upcoming International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th.

Series of events organised on this occasion engaged the youngsters and empowered them to join the fight against drugs. The diversity of activities included an open competition to name the campaign's mascot, an oath-taking ceremony where young individuals enthusiastically enrolled themselves as Anti-Drug Soldiers,culturals, expo, a fireside chat session with Traithlete Mr.Neil D’silvha , and an enlightening panel discussion.

As the campaign gained momentum, Chief Guest, renowned Actor Nikhil, delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the importance of collective action in combating the drug menace and appealed the youngsters to abstain from drugs. “It’s not cool.”, he exclaimed.  Actor Mr.Priyadarshi who graced the occasion regaled the audience with his witty style and urged to be vigilant. 

Addressing the mass gathering, Mr.CV Anand(Director TSNAB & CP – Hyderabad) informed that the TS  Government  had been taking stringent measures. "I request all of you to join the group of  Anti-drug soldiers under  mission parivarthana and become members of the Anti-drug committees which we are going to start  in all academic institutions across the state.” he added.

CP Anand thanked all the guests and appreciated TSNAB team for organising the campaign.Later he presented the mementos to the guests and other dignitaries. 

The youngsters and all the attendees  paid unwavering attention to the  fireside chat with Mr.Neil D’silvha, Triathelete who had been vocal about his transformative journey of becoming  a triathlete and a training director. “Peer pressure and the curiosity are the main factors that drives the vulnerable to try drugs.” He said. 

“Explore what feeds your soul because unless you find it, distractions in life haunts you no matter how much you earn or what profession you take up.” He advised  intensely and added to cutdown the screentime and fix to a usual healthy routine. 

The panel discussion on “People first: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, strengthen prevention”   brought together expert psychologists, academicians,  professionals, and other subject matter experts who presented the medical facts, insights and shed light on intricate aspects  -  fostering a holistic understanding of the addiction issue.

All and all, the campaign was well received by the target group , the youngsters and left a good impact on them.

Inter-department coordination meeting held ahead of Bakrid

 In view of the forthcoming Bakrid festival to be celebrated on 29th June, the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Mr. CV Anand, convened an inter-department coordination meeting at the city police headquarters, TSPICCC. This meeting brought together police officials from the Tri-Commissionerates, along with senior officials from GHMC, the Transport department, and Animal husbandry department. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss and meticulously plan all the arrangements associated with combating the illegal transportation of cattle during this season. 

During a concise presentation, the City Police officials briefed all the attendees on the various Acts that govern the transportation and slaughter of cattle. The meeting subsequently delved into the intricate operational aspects of these matters. CP Anand emphasized the importance of interdepartmental coordination and made all other department officials aware of the overall situation. Specifically, the GHMC and animal husbandry departments were urged to ensure the deployment of veterinary doctors at cattle holding points and 24/7 check posts. 

GHMC Additional commissioner assured that the animal shelters are fully functional , with adequate provisions of fodder and water to promptly accommodate any seized cattle. When queried about the handling of animal remains during the festival, GHMC officials assured that sanitization teams would be dispatched to clear roads, ponds, and open drains. Emergency vehicles and veterinary teams would also be on standby to address any urgent situations.

Joint inspection  teams and static teams  comprising officials from the Animal Husbandry Department, local police, and GHMC officials will man checkpoints round the clock. 

CP Anand emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts from all departments to prevent any untoward incidents during the festival. Furthermore, the top brass  issued a stern warning against self-styled groups and individuals who take the law into their own hands. He urged that anyone with information regarding illegal cattle transport to report it to the authorities.

Senior officers and zonal DCPs  were instructed to monitor potential troublemakers closely, conduct surprise checks, and ensure fool proof security and traffic arrangements at Mosques. Social media surveillance was also emphasized. 

The officials from the transport department assured that they would cater to the deployment of drivers and other required services as per the specific needs identified.

Night patrol - Suraksha Dinotsavam

 A night patrol was conducted in the heart of the city from 10pm to 12:30 am on the intervening night of 04/05-06-2023 exemplified  how the City Police and Telangana police toil tirelessly through out the night while most of you are asleep. The event was flagged off by the Hon’ble Home minister Shri Mohammed Mahmood Ali along with the  Hon’ble Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Cinematography Shri Talasani Srinivas Yadav, DGP, Mr.Anjani Kumar IPS and other dignitaries. All the guests lauded the services of the police department for fortifying the Safety & Security in the region which led to economic prosperity. 


  Led by the City Police chief Mr.CV Anand  thousands of police men took to the streets and greeted public enroute. “Tonight and every night all our officers  are out there to protect you even during the darkest hours.” he said. 

   Telangana CID chief, Mr.Mahesh M.Bhagwat IPS; GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi; Popular Actor Mr. Adivisesh and singer Rahul Sipligunj, Simha, showed their solidarity by attending the event.
