Emphasizing that technology has become the most powerful tool in modern policing, Director General of Police (DGP), Telangana, Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, said that the effective use of advanced technology is essential for crime prevention, investigation, and combating cybercrime in today's rapidly evolving digital era. He stated that Telangana Police continues to remain at the forefront of technology adoption in the country and is constantly embracing innovative solutions to deliver efficient public services and strengthen law enforcement.
As part of these efforts, the DGP on Friday inaugurated an Advanced Computer Lab and She Cyber Lab at the CID Headquarters in Hyderabad. The newly established facility is equipped with an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Smart Conference, Crime Analytics and Data Management System, designed to enhance investigative capabilities and data-driven policing.
Addressing the gathering, Sri C.V. Anand said Telangana Police has earned a distinct reputation for leveraging technology in policing. Since the formation of the state, the department has consistently adopted innovative practices and modern technological solutions, emerging as a model for police organizations across the country. He noted that Telangana Police has made remarkable progress in areas such as cybercrime prevention, digital forensic investigations, and data analytics, earning recognition at the national level.
The DGP further stated that the department is continuously introducing technological innovations to modernize policing, improve investigative efficiency, and ensure timely delivery of services to citizens. He highlighted initiatives such as the recently introduced T-SPARK technology team, which is contributing significantly to technology-driven policing and innovation within the department.
Features of the Smart Computer lab
The newly inaugurated system incorporates several advanced and intelligent features aimed at improving operational efficiency and investigative processes. The system is capable of automatically identifying the person speaking during meetings and directing the camera towards the speaker. It can automatically zoom in on the speaker while simultaneously recording high-quality video and audio. Discussions conducted during meetings can be digitally captured, transcribed, and stored for future reference.
The system can also recognize content displayed on monitors or digital boards and convert it into text, audio, or report formats whenever required. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, it can analyze large volumes of information and facilitate crime mapping, data filtering, trend analysis, and comprehensive case reviews.
Another significant feature is its ability to digitally record and preserve feedback from victims and complainants. This capability will enable investigators to better assess public responses, monitor case progress, and improve the overall quality of investigations.Officials stated that the system will also facilitate faster and more efficient operations within the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) platform, including case registration, data management, information analysis, verification, and corrections wherever required.
The DGP observed that the adoption of such advanced technologies would enhance accuracy in criminal investigations, improve transparency, accelerate decision-making, and strengthen the overall effectiveness of policing. He expressed confidence that the new facility would serve as a significant milestone in the modernization of Telangana Police and CID operations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by DG, ACB & CID, Ms. Charu Sinha, IPS; DIGs Naveen Kumar, Narayana Naik, and Parimala Hana Nuthan; SP Maddipati Srinivas; along with senior CID officers and staff members.
