Telangana DGP Sri C.V. Anand visited the 4th Battalion, Mamnoor, Warangal, as part of his district visit and described the visit as a homecoming, having begun his career there as an ASP trainee in the early 1990s. He later served as ASP, Warangal Rural, during a challenging period when the region was affected by Naxalism. The DGP was received by ADG (TGSP) Sanjay Kumar Jain, Warangal CP Swetha and Commandant D. Shiva Prasad Reddy. He toured the battalion campus and reviewed infrastructure, residential quarters, deployments and disaster response equipment. During his interaction with personnel, he stressed transparency in duty allotments and transfers, faster mobilisation and effective deployment. He also heard their concerns relating to transfers, promotions, housing and operational issues and assured them that these would be addressed as per established procedures.
The DGP urged personnel to stay away from drugs and online betting and to protect their families from these harmful practices while actively supporting the anti-narcotics campaign. The 4th Battalion, one of the oldest and largest battalions in the State, has played an important role in tackling Naxalism and continues to support major police operations, large-scale deployments and disaster response.
Later in the evening, Warangal CP hosted a dinner for district officers at the Commissionerate headquarters. The interaction provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination and teamwork among officers. The DGP is scheduled to hold the District Crime Review Meeting tomorrow.
