DGP C.V. Anand Reviews Warangal Police Performance

Telangana DGP Sri C.V. Anand conducted an extensive review of the performance of Warangal Police in the presence of SPs from EAGLE, CSB, T-SPARK and CID. He said the participation of specialised wings in district crime reviews has been introduced to provide focused guidance on cybercrime, narcotics, organised gangs and portal updation directly to district police.

Warangal CP Swetha presented the crime statistics, with overall crime showing a marginal decline and other major crime heads remaining under check. The DGP also reviewed major economic offences, POCSO and SC/ST cases and examined key operational issues. Considering the presence of prominent educational institutions attracting students from across the country, the influx of migrant labour and the critical railway network in the district, he directed intensified surveillance of passenger movements to check drug trafficking and snatching incidents. He also ordered a special drive to replace defunct CCTV cameras.

The DGP stressed the need for personnel to continuously strengthen their skills in narcotics and cybercrime investigation, as well as thorough crime scene analysis. He directed officers to focus on key operational areas and improve road safety on highways, while implementing the recommendations shared by the specialised bureaus. He also urged personnel to remain professional, impartial and committed to their duties.

Addressing a press conference later, DGP C.V. Anand said Telangana Police is undergoing a transformation to strengthen its capabilities and respond more effectively to emerging challenges.
