With the Bakrid festival approaching, DGP CV Anand conducted a video conference with all Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police, along with senior officials from the Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department, Animal Husbandry Department, and other concerned departments, to review preparedness and coordination measures.
During the meeting, Mr. Anand directed all officers to maintain close coordination with inter-departmental teams, hold regular interactions with community representatives and other stakeholder groups to prevent misunderstandings, ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and take concerted action against illegal cattle transportation.Officers were also instructed to closely monitor the 52 inter-state check posts located along the State borders and the 203 check posts established across Telangana to ensure effective enforcement and prevent any violations during the festival period.
Several operational issues, including the availability and management of cattle shelters, monitoring of provocative and inflammatory content on social media platforms, and other preventive measures, were reviewed in detail and necessary directions were issued to ensure seamless coordination among all departments.
Observing that the period leading up to the festival is often sensitive, DGP CV Anand emphasized the need for the police machinery to remain especially vigilant and proactive in order to maintain peace, public order, and communal harmony across the State.
