DGP CV Anand participated in the Way2News Conclave 2026 and addressed a fireside chat session titled “DGP’s Blueprint for Telangana a Decade from Now.” During the interaction, he shared the vision and mission of the Telangana Police and highlighted the strategic initiatives being undertaken to effectively address contemporary challenges such as substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime, disaster management and traffic regulation.
CV Anand also spoke about the proposed Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau and explained how it would help standardize traffic management and enforcement practices across the State, thereby enhancing road safety and improving traffic discipline. He further emphasized the importance of strengthening Anti-Drug Committees and Anti-Drug Clubs (ADCs) in educational institutions as part of a broader preventive strategy against substance abuse among youth.
The DGP informed the audience that plans are underway to replicate the FitCop application, which was launched during his tenure as Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, to monitor and improve the health and fitness of approximately 74,000 Telangana Police personnel across the State. He stressed the importance of physical fitness in ensuring effective policing, boosting morale, providing institutional support to personnel, and improving gender parity within the department.
He underscored the need for empathy and understanding in dealing with generational changes within the police force and emphasized the importance of mentoring and guiding young officers in the right direction.Addressing civil services aspirants and young attendees, he advised that public service, particularly policing, should be pursued only by those who possess integrity, passion, and an unwavering commitment to remain free from corruption throughout their careers.
