CP briefs media Ganesh immersion

Today Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, DG, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, stated that the process of Ganesh idol immersion is continuing peacefully without any untoward incidents. Speaking to the media this evening (September 6, 2025), he explained the progress of the immersion process and the measures taken by the police.

Khairatabad Maha Ganapathi immersion was completed at 1:05 PM, and Balapur Ganapathi immersion was completed at 6:11 PM. So far, the immersion of more than 650 idols has been completed.

Around 4,500 idols still need to be immersed in the city. An aerial survey revealed that the idols coming from the South Zone (Chhatrinaka, Chandrayangutta, Rachakonda) and Cyberabad side are still on the roads.

Measures are being taken to speed up the immersion by continuing the idol procession in four lanes.

This time, technology has been extensively used for the Ganesh immersion. Information about the idols was uploaded online, and the Ganesh idols were geo-tagged. This has made the process easier.

A special option for Ganesh immersion has been introduced in the TG COP app. This allows inspectors to track the movement of idols within their jurisdiction.

Based on the information provided by the mandap organizers, vehicles are being allowed after ensuring there are no DJs, bands, etc.

Due to the measures taken to prevent electrical accidents, 10% of the CCTV camera connections were disconnected, of which up to 3% were repaired for the immersion. Drones (9) and high-rise cameras (35) are being used for surveillance.

Pushing parties have been arranged to speed up the immersion. 40 cranes are available at Hussain Sagar for immersion..

The immersion process is being completed in coordination with GHMC and other departments. The mandap organizers are cooperating with the police and following their instructions. The Commissioner expressed hope that the immersion of idols would be completed by 8 AM tomorrow morning and that traffic would be relaxed as needed tomorrow. He also revealed that special attention is being paid to the pending idols in the South and East Zones.

The Commissioner stated that officials from all departments are being fully supervised through the Command and Control Room, TGICCC,Banjara Hills and instructions are being issued from time to time.

Sri V.B. Kamlasan Reddy, Director TGICCC, Smt. Pushpa, DCP TGICCC, and officials from other departments participated in this program
