Meeting with North Zone officers and visited ganesh pandals

Today (August 30, 2025), a review meeting was held at the North Zone DCP office under the chairmanship of Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, DG and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, to discuss security arrangements for the Ganesh immersion. During the meeting, the Commissioner instructed officials on the security measures to be taken for maintaining law and order and ensuring a smooth immersion process during the Ganesh Idols Immersion.

Speaking at the meeting, Commissioner Sri C.V. Anand emphasized that top priority should be given to security. Local police and volunteers were instructed to maintain constant vigilance to prevent crimes like idol theft. To avoid potential conflicts, he suggested giving priority to the immersion of idols from areas inhabited by people of all communities. He also stated that special surveillance should be kept on the movements of individuals who cause problems and on rowdy sheeters. He mentioned that proper police escort should be provided for idol vehicles coming from neighboring commissionerates like Cyberabad and Rachakonda. Organizers or volunteers were instructed to be present at the idol pandals at night.

The meeting also discussed past shortcomings during the Ganesh idol immersion process and the precautions to be taken regarding law and order. A plan of action was discussed for the speedy immersion of Ganesh idols, and appropriate instructions were given to the officials.

Following the meeting, a surprise inspection was conducted at some of the key Ganesh pandals in the North Zone. The Commissioner spoke with the organizers and volunteers at the pandals, reviewed the security arrangements, and gave them necessary instructions. He informed them to take adequate precautions due to the ongoing rains, as there is a possibility of accidents. He requested the public and devotees to cooperate with the police to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the Ganesh festivities.

The review meeting was attended by Smt. S. Rashmi Perumal, IPS (DCP, North Zone), Smt. K. Apoorva Rao, IPS (DCP, SB), Sri B.K. Rahul Hegde, IPS (DCP, Traffic), Sri Y.V.S. Sudheendra, DCP, Task Force, additional DCPs, and all police station officers from the North Zone.
