Muharram procession concluded peacefully in Hyderabad

 As part of the Muharram mourning observances, today's Bibi Ka Alam procession, on the 10th day of Muharram, concluded peacefully in Hyderabad. Sri C.V. Anand IPS, DG and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, personally supervised the security arrangements from the historic Charminar. He provided timely instructions to all officers to ensure the procession proceeded smoothly. For the past 10 days of Muharram mourning, Hyderabad City Police, under the leadership of Sri C.V. Anand, had implemented stringent security measures and efficient traffic management.


This massive Bibi Ka Alam procession commenced from Ashurkhana in Dabeerpura (Darul Shifa). The "Alam" was carried on Lakshmi, an elephant brought from Karnataka state, as the procession made its way. It concluded at Masjid-e-Ilahi, Chaderghat, on the banks of the Musi River.

City Police Commissioner Sri C.V. Anand, accompanied by senior officers from Law & Order and Traffic departments, oversaw the procession. On behalf of the Hyderabad City Police, garlands and 'Dattis' (offerings) were presented to the Alam at Charminar.

Over 3,000 police personnel provided robust security for the Bibi Ka Alam procession. Thanks to proactive planning and all necessary measures taken, the Bibi Ka Alam procession concluded peacefully in Hyderabad without any untoward incidents. On this occasion, Sri C.V. Anand IPS, DG and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, extended his thanks to all the Shia community members in Hyderabad.

The event was attended by Sri Vikram Singh Mann IPS (Additional Commissioner of Police L&O), Sri D. Joel Davis IPS (Joint CP Traffic), Smt. Rakshitha Krishna Murthy IPS (DCP CAR Headquarters), Smt. Sneha Mehra IPS (DCP South Zone), along with other police officials.
