Sri Ponnam Prabhakar, Hyderabad In-charge Minister for Transport and BC Welfare, visited Purani Haveli building for its re-inauguration. After inaugurating and thoroughly inspecting the building, he extended his best wishes to everyone. He also congratulated everyone who contributed to bringing the Purani Haveli building back into use and restoring its old glory.
Additionally, the Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Kalapathar,Chatrinaka Traffic PS and Shalibanda Police Station buildings. Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, DG and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, stated that this building previously served as the Police Commissioner's office and was also known as “The Kotwal House” functioning as the police headquarters from 1920 to 2002. He noted that the Purani Haveli building holds significant historical importance in Hyderabad, and it was considered for demolition four years ago when its roof collapsed. However, he explained that with a desire to preserve our history, Sri Chalamalasetty Anil Kumar, Director, Ace Urban Developers Pvt. Limited, Greenko Group, Group CEO & MD, came forward to finance the entire restoration cost. The restoration work began in December 2022, and he emphasized that restoring old structures requires immense patience. He praised Mir Barkatullah Khan (Architect) from Deccan Terrain Agencies for doing an excellent job. From now on, the Hyderabad City Kotwal will have a dedicated place to sit when visiting the old city. He extended his congratulations to everyone for saving this historical structure.
The Hyderabad Police Commissioner's office currently operates from the ICCC building, Banjara Hills, Road No. 12. The Commissioner announced that moving forward, he will be available to the public one day a week (Friday) from The Kotwal House, Purani Haveli, one day from the Basheerbagh office, and on the remaining days from the Banjara Hills office.

Srinivas, IPS (Director of Vigilance and Enforcement), Sri M. Ramesh Reddy, IPS (MD, Police Housing Corporation), and Smt.K.Apoorva Rao IPS DCP SB, Smt.Rakshitha Krishna Murthy IPS DCP CAR Hqtrs, , Sri.R.Venkateswarlu IPS DCP Traffic, Sri.Chaitanya Kumar, DCP South East Zone were present.
