The State Government is thinking of strengthening the Food safety and Drug Control Department by combining both and create structures under a single HOD with sufficient enforcement, legal,fsl and prosecution wings in light of the increasing adulteration of the food that we are consuming and which are leading to increasing cancers and health issues and also the spread of narcotics in the state . We can spare some force saved from downsizing of greyhounds and octopus for the enforcement wing now of this new organisation . Inter Department discussion was fruitful and we’ ll be able to progress quickly in this.
