In a bid to enhance the operational efficiency of the vast CCTV network and resolve ongoing maintenance and connectivity issues, City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand held a high-level review meeting with key stakeholders. D-CAMO team of HCP, ITMS, Safe City Project Management team , CCTV vendors, Internet service providers, officials from L&T,TGTS, Cyberabad & Rachakonda Police Commissionerates attended this review meeting.
The review focused on five major CCTV projects: the Hyderabad Safe & Smart City Project, Hyderabad Safe City Project, Community CCTV Cameras, Nenusaitham, and the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS). During the meeting, a detailed assessment of field-level challenges, including the number of cameras under each project, their operational status, and connectivity to TGICCC, was conducted. CP Anand sought budget projections from all stakeholders for maintenance, connectivity, and other operational expenditures. An action plan was finalized to restore defunct cameras to operational status and replace those beyond repair. “The immediate priority is to make all existing cameras functional,” he stressed.Rational work allotment to all vendors, quarterly review of CCTV projects, budget issues, enhancing transparency & coordination, and other stats were discussed during the meeting.
He reiterated that CCTVs are the backbone of effective policing, and said that they enhance public safety and crime prevention capabilities. “The extensive CCTV coverage in Telangana has garnered widespread recognition across the country.” he added.
