Joint route inspection - Ganesh Shobayatra

 With the Ganesh idols final procession and immersion merely 72 hours away, meticulous final preparations by the Hyderabad City police are underway to ensure the seamless  execution of this grand event. In this regard a joint route inspection involving Police department and other departments was carried out on 14.09.2024. In this inspection Dr. Jitender, IPS, DGP, Telangana, Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, CP, Hyderabad City, Ms. Amrapali Kata, IAS, Commissioner, GHMC, Sri Anudeep Durishetti, IAS, Dist., Collector, Hyderabad, Sri Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Addl. CP, L&O, Hyderabad City, Sri Sudheer Babu, IPS, CP, Rachakonda, Sri P. Viswa Prasad, IPS, Addl. CP, Traffic, Hyderabad City, Zonal DCsP of Law & Order and Traffic and other wings of Hyderabad City Police, senior officials from HMDA, R&B, Transco, HMWS&SB participated. The route inspection commenced from the famous Balapur Ganesh Temple and covered several significant areas along the main procession route.

            The total route of 19 km from Balapur to Hussain Sagar includes key locations of Chandrayanagutta, Falaknuma, Charminar, Nayapool, MJ Market, and upto Telugu Talli Flyover. The DGP instructed all the officials to put in their best and have perfect coordination to resolve any pending issues. CP, Hyderabad stressed upon the significance of City Police as the nodal department and emphasized on ensuring smooth and swift movement of the procession along the route for which all ranks of the City Police have to contribute their best.

            The team walked from Rajesh Medical Hall up to Gulzar Houz and also halted at M.J. Market Junction and Telugu Thalli Junction to understand the flow of Idols processions and the role of Law & Order and Traffic wings. The other department officers also shared the arrangements being made.

            Timely movement of the idols from various zones was reiterated to all the officers. The en-route height restrictions and junction clearances were also emphasized upon.

            For the Ganesh Festival nearly 25,000 strong police force is being deployed consisting of personnel from Hyderabad City Police as well as from outside. All arrangements regarding their accommodation and food have been made.

            Various roads in the city which are part of the procession will either remain closed for regular traffic or will see traffic diversions. Multiple Quick Response Teams, dog squads, and Anti-Chain snatching teams, SHE teams will also be deployed. The joint command control centre having senior officers from all departments like GHMC, HMDA, Transco, R&B, water works, RTA, Medical and Health etc will be fully operational from early hours of September 17th at TGC&CC.

            The City police appeals to the public to cooperate with law enforcement officials and follow safety guidelines to make this year's Ganesh idols procession and immersion a memorable and incident-free celebration.
