With the Ganesh idols procession and immersion merely 48 hours away, the meticulous final preparations of the City police force are underway to ensure the seamless execution of this grand event. Accompained by the heads of Traffic,L&O, SB the City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand carried a route inspection, commencing from the prominent Balapur Ganesh Temple and encompassing several significant areas along the way.
The inspection route covered the 19 km procession route from Balapur to Hussain Sagar and the key locations covered are Chandrayanagutta, Charminar, Nayapool, MJ Market, Telugu Talli Flyover, Secretariat, and People's Plaza.CP Anand instructed the zonal DCPs to work collaboratively, particularly where the processions converge at MJ Market. The responsibility of overseeing the movement of the procession at critical junctions and providing essential guidance to subordinates was entrusted to senior officers.
While inspecting the primary procession lanes near Charminar and Telugu Talli Flyover, he stressed on the importance of clear signage to direct the vehicles carrying the idols according to their height specifications. The Police Chief stressed the significance of a scientific evaluation of the route, which included verifying height restrictions, identifying and addressing low-lying wires, and pinpointing potential obstacles that could impede the procession. The comprehensive inspection concluded at People's Plaza, where senior echelons meticulously reviewed logistics and deployment plans for managing heavy crowds around Hussain Sagar.
Along with staff from city police, additional staff from other districts and allied branches will also be deployed bringing the deployment of the force to that of around 25,694 personnel and 125 platoons. Shift system of duties for even officers has been newly planned at 18 important junctions like MJ market, Afzalgunj, Ambedkar statue & NTR Marg etc., . 3 RAF Coys and other paramilitary forces have reported. Five drone teams are being deployed. The main routes and tributary rates are fully covered by CCTVs and the repairs have been carried out.
Various roads in the city which are part of the procession will either remain closed for regular traffic or will see traffic diversions. Multiple Quick Response Teams, dog squads, and anti-chain snatching teams, SHE teams will also be deployed. The joint command control centre having senior officers from all departments like GHMC, HMDA, Transco, water works , RTA , Medical and Health etc will be fully operational from early hours of September 28th at TSPICCC.
The City police appeals the public to cooperate with law enforcement officials and follow safety guidelines to make this year's Ganesh idols procession and immersion a memorable and incident-free celebration.
