An all exclusive reliable transport service for women, ‘She Shuttle’ which was unique to the IT zone of Hitech City will now spread its wings to emerging IT hubs on the outskirts. By August this year, the service will be introduced in Adibatala, Pocharam and Uppal with two buses to cater to women techies residing and working in those areas.
On Thursday, two new buses were added to the existing fleet of the ‘She Shuttles’ which ply in Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur and nearby areas and transport women employees free of cost.
With the addition of the two new buses, which were flagged off by Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, the total number of ‘She Shuttle’ buses has gone up to four.
Mr. Anand said that the response to the shuttles has been very good with almost 1,000 employees using a single bus in a day. He said that owing to the demand from the employees, they have added more buses. He also lauded the role played by She Teams in curbing crime related to the women in the city.
While the route of one newly introduced ‘She Shuttle’ will be between G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology in Toli Chowki to CII Green Building in Kondapur, the other bus will shuttle between Lingampally MMTS Station and Waverock building in financial district. The buses are being maintained by IT companies.
