At Goshamahal, 191 Police Martyrs Remembered; CV Anand Calls It a Grim Reminder of Risks Faced Daily

 C.V. Anand on Tuesday  attended the Police Commemoration Day parade and paid respects to 191 police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty across the country, including six from Telangana.

"Attended the Police Commemoration Day parade at Goshamahal and paid my respects to the 191 personnel who sacrificed their lives in maintaining internal security in the country and the 6 in Telangana . The recent stabbing and death of constable officer Pramod by an offender whom he had caught and was taking to the police station , is a grim reminder of the dangers faced by all the policemen of the country day in and day out , in maintaining law and order in a densely populated country .

These numbers used to be very high in the 1990s when we were fighting Naxalism and I remember 126 names being read for Andhra Pradesh in 1997 when I was SP Nizamabad during the peak of Naxalism . Thanks to the Government and Hon’ble CM for taking care of the families of all martyrs and their welfare ." said Mr.Anand in his X account.
