With the arrest of a Nigerian national, Hyderabad Police has busted the Mahesh Bank hacking case involving the hacking of bank servers and illegal transfer of money to the tune of Rs 12 crore.
The Hyderabad City Police on Wednesday arrested one of the masterminds of what is considered among the most sophisticated financial frauds busted in the State in recent times. The police also nabbed 21 of his accomplices.
The arrested person, Nigerian national Ikpa Stephen Orji, is said to be the key conspirator of the AP Mahesh Cooperative Urban Bank Limited e-fraud case, which saw four accounts of the bank being hacked, bank balances being manipulated and then, Rs.12.48 crore being transferred from the four accounts to 115 accounts and then to another 398 accounts, before being withdrawn from 938 ATMs across India.
On the occasion of 56th Birth anniversary of Umesh Chandra IPS , Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand paid floral tribute and garlanded the statue of Umesh Chandra in SR Nagar in the occasion of his birthday today
Mr.Umesh Chandra, a 1991 batch IPS officer, was assassinated on September 4, 1999 by naxalites.Mr.Anand recalled the contributions made by Umesh Chandra in controlling Naxals movement in the 90s
“I had a close association with him in HPS,Nizam College and OU.He was my senior by two years and I took his guidance while preparing for civil services. Along with his parents, we still mourn his loss.” Said CP Anand while sharing his memories.
Later CP interacted with the parents of the fallen hero and appreciated the activities being done by the Trust.
Family members of Umesh Chandra, ACP Punjagutta, SHO SR Nagar and other officers were present.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand visited the Asia’s largest civil aviation event “ Wings India 2022” being held at Begumpet airport. The four-day show is being organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and FICCI and is expected to provide a congenial forum catering to the rapidly changing dynamics of the sector.
City Police chief was received by North Zone DCP Smt.Chandana Deepthi IPS, event organisers,sponsors and airport officials.
Mr.Anand tried the cockpit simulator “Avionics PART TASK TRAINER DO-228 AIRCRAFT” and explored multimedia Navigation system, civil mode transponders, special decoders, drone solutions and latest devices.
He had hands on the cutting edge Augmented reality technology which helped in simulating piloting experience. Later he visited stalls, static aircrafts that were kept on display and enquired locally manufactured air crafts and interacted with the visitors. A350, the long haul aircraft showcased by Airbus caught the attention of CP.
“After being in doldrums for over 2 years,due to pandemic, Indian aviation seems to be back on track.Hyderabad City hosting this grand scale of event will attract unprecedented investment and business opportunities, thereby creating many jobs .” CP observed.
Wings India 2022 is invariably a huge attraction for aviation aficionados, and North Zone police made elaborate security arrangements and facilitated seamless experience to the visitors attending the event.
Continuing the efforts to strengthen community policing, Hyderabad City police and TMI group organised a mega recruitment drive to hire skilled and qualified youngsters who are aspiring for a job in private sector. Today Hyderabad City police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand attended as chief guest and inaugurated the “Job connect” - recruitment drive held at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Stadium, Yousufguda which falls under West Zone.
City Police chief Mr.Anand was received by TMI group CEO Mr.Ravi Ramakrishnan and west Zone DCP Mr.Joel Davis IPS. He visited all the stalls of companies and interacted with the recruiters.
“Youngsters should avail the job oppurtunities in private sector .Very soon we will announce the PRT schedule which may help you secure a job in the upcoming 18,000 police vaccancies to be notified soon.”said the CP while addressing the job aspirants.
“Community outreach is very important and job connect is one such flagship program of HCP to provide livelihood to the unemployed youth .Unemployment may also lead to increase in crime rate as the jobless youth may resort to illegal activities for livelihood. “ he added.
Mr.Anand appreciated the candidates who cleared the interview and presented the offer letters.
"40 transgenders also participated in the "job connect". Thousands of job aspirants participated in this job connect program in which 30 companies offered 3832 jobs, and the pay ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 rupees in the IT and & IELTS, finance,pharma sectors etc.,. The companies also offered jobs for varied educational qualifications both technical and no technical between Tenth standard and Post Graduation levels. Byjus, Airtel, ICICI, Apollo Pharmacies and other prominent companies participated in this job connect program.
Hyderabad City Police, with the help of sponsors is planning to launch more AV vehicles that houses page screen TV, public address system and seating arrangement to enable youth to register and also get the information on jobs available in Hyderabad. These vehicles would go to different areas in the city everyday.

CP Anand shared his insights and set a new course to HCSC, and opined that
various administrative processes need to be re-engineered to clear all the
hindrances in the financial operations of HCSC.
The meeting was attended by the forum heads and Executive Committee
members of the Society.
For the first time in the history of Hyderabad City Police, amid all the excitement and joy, a mass promotion-cum-pipping ceremony was held today at Nizam College to decorate the newly promoted personnel with their hard earned epaulettes. A total of 382 personnel serving at Constable rank were promoted to the Head Constable rank . Among the 382 who got promoted as Head Constables, 42 were women.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand presided the event and congratulated the promotee officials and their families for their elevation to the present rank, besides motivating them to work with dedication and devotion in their duties.He lauded the efforts of promotees for swift detection and apprehension of criminals and timely response to Dial 100 calls. Along with senior officers, police commissioner adorned the promoted officers with insignias.
“Promotions improve the overall employee morale, job satisfaction. As you all moved to the next step in the the ladder of hierarchy, it is imperative to tone & enrich the skills as per job requirement.” Said CP Anand.
HCP chief Mr.Anand exchanged the MOU with Helping Hand NGO foundation Helping hand foundation is tasked to evaluate the health condition of the police personnel,their families and propose a customised diet, exercise plan. The ceremony witnessed immense pride and enthusiasm amongst the promoted personnel. The officers and staff of HCP pursued hard and maintained liaison with chief office for promoting the personnel. The promotee officers and their family members expressed their gratitude towards police department and pledged to serve with zest.
With a view to further strengthen the safety mechanism for women, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand chaired an inter-departmental meeting on Thursday to discuss several execution & administrative aspects of the Safe City Project – which was launched in various metros of the country including Hyderabad.
The Safe City Project ,an initiative of MHA under the Nirbhaya Funds scheme , aims to create a safe, secure and empowering environment for women to enable them to pursue all opportunities without the threat of gender-based violence and/or harassment. It also aims to prevent and curb all forms of crimes against women and girl children in public places by providing safer urban infrastructure and efficient access to law enforcement agencies.
CP Anand observed that role of safe city project is pivotal in securing cities and added that this project should be moved further in an organized manner by working as a team. It has been decided to expedite the process of hiring program managers for Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad Commissionerates and all other aspects of implementation of the project.
Instructions were given to TSTS, GHMC and other stakeholders of the project to speed up the installation of mobile toilets, PELICAN signals, pressing AV& surveillance vans to service and to expedite land acquisition process for launch of CDEWs(Center for Development and Empowerment of women) etc., Budget issues, CCTVs procurement & installation, other administrative issues were discussed in length.

On Friday, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand inaugurated various stalls of HCP viz Road Safety Awareness, SHE teams and Anti-drug awareness stalls installed at Hyderabad's iconic exhibition Numaish.
Talking to the media, CP Anand said “These stalls gives an oppurtunity to the citizens to get an insider look of the state of the art technology used by Hyderabad City police for traffic management and the services offered by various other wings.People visiting the exhibition can have a friendly interaction with the staff available at the stall and educate themselves with traffic rules, road safety.”
In a lively interaction with the students, HCP chief Anand shared his memories of visiting Numaish as a child and said that multiple visits are a must to do justice to the gargantuan fair. “Numaish is a shopaholic's paradise and integral to the culture of Hyderabad.Reviving economy is the need of the hour and we will extend our support at all levels. “ he said in a response to the extension request from the organisers.
“SHE teams, CCTV cameras and various crime teams were deployed to closely watch suspicious persons in the exhibition grounds.” he added.
The HTP stall showcased the road safety signs, achievements and latest technology being.Laser speed guns, body worn cameras, and other devices were displayed. A lot of commuters, visitors were educated on road safety measures, dangers of drugs and services of SHE teams.
Hyderabad City Police stands out in International women’s day celebrations by breaking the gender stereotypes. HCP chief Mr.CV Anand, who has been striving to place women personnel in key positions, posted woman Inspector Smt.Madhulatha as SHO of Lalaguda PS(L&O) in North Zone.
Her appointment has set forth a new precedent as Smt.Madhulatha became the first woman in the city to command an entire police station. This appointment has doubled the confidence of other women police officers.
“HCP has 11 percent of its strength made up of women officers and they should take up challenging roles. Official statistics reveals that , women police personnel given key positions has put a curb on custodial violence. To advance the need to rebalance policing towards a more gender-equitable workforce, top priority will be given to improve facilities like separate toilets & changing rooms, baby feeding rooms, barracks.” Said CP Anand in his speech.
“Role of men officers is important in the movement toward gender parity in policing.Many of the barriers to women in policing are not specific to policing; rather, they are reflective of larger societal issues.” he added.
“I am thankful to CP sir for entrusting me with tremendous responsibility. I will work hard to render good service to public, control crime and maintain L&O in my jurisdiction.” said Smt.Madhulatha, Inspector Lalaguda.
In 2003, Smt.Madhulatha joined the police department as a Police Sub-Inspector. Since then, she has served in Siddipet,Sangareddy,Cyberabad & Rachakonda Commissionerates and rich experience in CID, Traffic, CCS and PSs.
On International Women's Day, Hyderabad Police police celebrated the achievements of women police personnel and honoured 15 of them. The Hon’ble Home Minister of Telangana Sri.Mohammed Mahmood Ali attended as chief guest for this event held at St. Mary's College auditorium, Secunderabad. Hon’ble minister appreciated the efforts of Hyderabad City Police and highlighted that Telangana Government is taking all measures for the safety and security of women.

west zone and made a surprise visit to Mangalhatt, Kulsumpura, Habeebnagar police
stations in Goshamahal division.
The CP maintains the old custom of visiting Puranahaveli every
Friday to closely monitor the prayers followed by group lunch with the
officers. Later, along with DCP west
zone, CP CV Anand examined the facilities in the police stations, inspected the
records and interacted with the sector SIs
and enquired the local happenings, situation in their respective jurisdictions.
“Hyderabad City
Police geared up for the upcoming festivals. SHOs were instructed to keep surveillance
on trouble mongers, communal offenders and rowdy sheeters .SIs who have reported
to HCP from other districts were being guided by the concerned ACsP, DCP to
tune them to metropolitan policing.” Said CP Anand.
“The building,
which will house the Kulsumpura police station, is under construction and
recently the work has been stopped due to shortage of funds. The construction
work will be resumed shortly by procuringthe funds.” he added.
Habeebnagar,
Mangalhatt police stations will be renovated and the facilities will be
enhanced.
West zone DCP,

The CP Hyderabad held a coordination meeting with the Jt. Directorsof NPA Sri Amit Garg IPS and Sri Madhusudan Reddy IPS and his team of officers, Jt. Director IB Sri Sambandan IPS, Jt. Director of Enforcement Directorate Sri Abhishek Goyal IPS, IG CRPFSouth Sri Mahesh LaddaIPS in the CP office today. The main agenda for discussion was the investigation of Cyber Crimes, the requirements of training for it,the training for Narcotic Drugs related cases and the watch over Dark Web and use of crypto currency, the increasing role of Africans and Nigerians in Drugs and Cyber Crime Cases and the possible actions against them.
It was decided that NPA will conduct special modules for the Hyderabad City Police on the above aspects and give practical on hands exposure. The need to strengthen Cyber Crime investigation tools and methodologies down to the Police station level was agreed upon.The request of exposure of IPS probationers in NPA to city police station functioning throughout the year and also major bandobusts like Ganesh etc was acceded to by the CP Hyderabad.
The CP Hyderabad, CV Anand held a L&O review meeting with all ACPs and above rank officers. The main issue of discussion was the response of L & O police in communal situations, the need for increase of police watch on various activities of communal and political groups, the need for improvement in police preparedness and reducing reaction time.
The acclimatization of new entrants viz Women SIs, PSIs, Inspectors to tune to City Police functioning. There was an intense discussion on the need for effective Policing and the steps to ensure the same so that right from the Home Guard to the top hierarchy every person takes responsibility for their role.
Preparedness for the upcoming Assembly session and Festival season was also discussed.
