Zoncal Cybercells launched

The Hyderabad police on Thursday (May 29), inaugurated Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCCs) across all seven police zones in the city to provide decentralised, swift, and efficient responses to the growing volume of digital offences.

The Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCC) are tasked with several critical responsibilities: promptly register complaints on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal, block fraudulent transactions, facilitate refunds for victims, enhance detection rates to track and apprehend cybercriminals and work in tandem with cyber forensics experts to investigate complex cases. They will also hold public awareness campaigns on cyber safety.

The move comes against a backdrop of a surge in cybercrime cases over the past decade: from 351 cases in 2015 to 3,111 in 2024, marking an increase of over 786%. The sharpest spike was recorded between 2019 and 2020, when cases nearly doubled from 1,393 to 2,550.

Each unit will be staffed with trained officers and function directly under the supervision of the respective Zonal deputy commissioner of police, enabling faster case resolution and better engagement.

The ZCCs will work closely with the Cyber Crimes Police Station (CCPS) for technical support and expertise. The CCPS, established in 2010 with 40 personnel, saw a major boost in manpower in 2023. It now operates with 147 staff members, including a deputy commissioner, additional DCP, nine inspectors, and 20 sub-inspectors, among others, who played a key role in training the ZCC personnel.

A total of 61 officers were deployed across the ZCCs, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, police constables, and home guards. These officers underwent an intensive training programme conducted by the CCPS and supported by cyber forensics and legal experts from external organisations. The training focused on practical investigation techniques, digital evidence handling, and emerging cyber threats.

Hyderabad City Police Organizes Coordination Meeting at Salar Jung Museum Auditorium with Muslim/Qureshi Community

Hyderabad, May 27, 2025 – To ensure a peaceful and clean celebration of the Bakrid festival in Hyderabad, a coordination meeting was held today at the Salar Jung Museum Auditorium. Chaired by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, the meeting included officials from various government departments, such as Animal Husbandry, GHMC, RTA, TGSPDCL, and HMWSS&B.

The meeting saw the participation of Sri Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Additional CP, Law & Order; GHMC Charminar Zonal Commissioner; Sri Raghu Prasad, RTO-2 CZ Khairatabad; Dr. Malleswari, Additional Director, Animal Husbandry Department; Dr. Babu Beri, District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Officer, RR District; Sri D. Somi Reddy, SE/OP Hyderabad; HMWSS&B officials, numerous police and veterinary staff, along with MLAs Sri Majid Hussain (Nampally), Sri Kausar Mohiuddin (Karwan), Sri Zulfiqar Ali (Charminar), Sri Jaffer Hussain Meraj (Yakutpura), MLC Sri Mirza Rahmat Ali Baig, religious leaders, Qureshis, and Maulanas.

Sri C.V. Anand, IPS,DG Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad stated that checkpoints would be established around the Hyderabad City Commissionerate solely to curb the illegal transport of animals and for security reasons. He urged the public not to take the law into their own hands, emphasizing that only government officials and law enforcement agencies are authorized to stop or inspect vehicles.

During meeting Instructions to Various Departments:

• Animal Husbandry Department & GHMC: Were requested to ensure the availability of 24/7 veterinary doctors at all checkpoints.

• GHMC Officials: Were instructed to deploy street dog catching teams in all areas before Bakrid. They were also directed to supply disposal covers to every household for animal carcasses and to arrange special teams for waste and carcass collection on the day of the festival. GHMC was also asked to provide adequate vehicles, tippers, and JCBs for efficient waste collection and disposal, and to assign sufficient staff to clear waste generated during Bakrid.

• Electricity & Engineering Departments: Were assigned the responsibility of ensuring an uninterrupted power supply during the festival to prevent any inconvenience to the public.

• HMWSS&B & Engineering Officials: Were directed to monitor and maintain sewerage systems and ensure a continuous water supply during the festival.

• RTA Officials: Were requested to ensure the availability of sufficient drivers, mechanics, and cranes in their respective areas.

Appeal from Religious Leaders & Community Representatives: Muslim religious leaders and community representatives urged everyone to dispose of animal waste only in designated areas, keep the streets clean, and cooperate with the police and other departmental officials. They stressed that upholding the city's "Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb" (composite culture) and maintaining peace is a collective responsibility.

The GHMC Zonal Commissioner elaborated on the extensive sanitation measures, including the deployment of additional sanitation teams and waste collection vehicles near wards and mosques. He confirmed that garbage bags would be ready and GHMC officials would be actively performing their duties.

Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, clarified that only designated police personnel, GHMC, and Animal Husbandry staff would be present at the checkpoints. He assured full cooperation from the Hyderabad City Police. He concluded by stating that this coordinated mechanism, continuous cooperation, and proactive measures would greatly help in resolving any issues that may arise, ensuring all city residents celebrate a smooth, safe, and joyful Bakrid.

Monsoon Preparedness Meeting Convened at TGiCCC

 A Monsoon Preparedness Meeting was convened by the Director, Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC), at the War Room, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on Monday. The meeting witnessed participation from key officials representing the Hyderabad Collectorate, GHMC, Fire Services, HYDRAA, TGSPDCL, Medical & Health Department, IMD, SDRF, Hyderabad HMWS&SB, and the Police Commissionerates of Cyberabad & Rachakonda headed by the DG & Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City.

The meeting focused on assessing and enhancing the preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season, with special emphasis on flood monitoring and traffic management at 141 identified waterlogging hotspots within GHMC limits. Detailed discussions were held on the action plan for:

• Power restoration during heavy rainfall.

• Diverting floodwaters to designated nalas.

• Mitigation of seasonal diseases.

• Identification and necessary action on dilapidated structures.

• Deployment of Aapda Mitra volunteers and NGOs for emergency support.

• Promotion and use of SACHET Mobile Application and other government services to ensure public safety.

Sri V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, IPS (Retd.), Director, TGiCCC, has initiated the session and addressed the stakeholders requesting for their cooperation and nomination of capable officers to TGiCCC to form a dedicated Joint Action Team (JAT) and appealed prompt utilization of TGiCCC services during the monsoon season.

Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, Director General & Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, appealed all stakeholders to proactively anticipate challenges and pre-deploy teams at vulnerable waterlogging and critical points by the field teams from GHMC, Traffic Police, HMWS&SB, TGSPDCL, HYDRAA, Volunteers, etc. He also appealed optimum utilization of the TGiCCC’s advanced facilities and communication system for real-time coordination during disaster and emergency situations. 

Sri Y. Nagi Reddy, IPS, representing the Fire Services Department, emphasized the need for the Command Control Centre to draft a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) defining the roles and responsibilities of various departments, including Medical & Health, for efficient handling of fire-related incidents during the monsoon.

Bakrid:Meeting held with Gauseva associations

 In anticipation of the upcoming Bakrid festival, the Hyderabad City Police today hosted a crucial meeting with various Goseva (cow protection) associations to foster a peaceful atmosphere for the celebration. The gathering, held at the Conference Hall in Basheerbagh, was presided over by Sri C.V. Anand IPS, DG, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad.

The meeting saw the active participation of Sri Vikram Singh Mann IPS, Additional CP, Law and Order, Hyderabad, alongside prominent representatives from Goseva organizations. Attendees included Sri Kolishetti Sivakumar, Chairman, Yuga Tulsi Foundation; Sri Deepak Singh, President, Gorakshak Dal, Telangana; Sri A. Balakrishna, President, Akhil Bharatiya Gauseva Foundation; Sri Jasraj Srishramal, President, Bharatiya Prani Mitrasangh; and Sri Jashmit Patel, President, Love for Cow Foundation Hyderabad. Other dedicated Gau Seva protectors, as well as Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Additional DCPs, and Divisional Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) of the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, were also present.

During the discussion, representatives from the Gau Seva Foundations reiterated their unwavering commitment to protecting cows and other cattle, emphasizing their efforts to prevent animal cruelty. They highlighted their significant work in promoting cattle protection, cow-based agriculture, and related products, noting the environmental benefits inherent in cow-based farming methods. They underscored the profound moral responsibility felt by Gau Seva protectors to serve and respect cows, recognizing their vital role in providing essential products like milk and curd. A key concern raised was the issue of individuals posting videos of cattle killings on social media platforms, with a strong appeal for stringent legal action against such perpetrators.

Addressing the assembled participants, Commissioner of Police, Sri C.V. Anand IPS, firmly stated that strict measures would be taken against anyone found posting videos of cattle killings on social media. He urged cow protectors to meticulously abide by the law and cautioned them against taking enforcement into their own hands if they receive any information. He advised them to promptly report any information, including photographs and videos, to the police control room by calling mobile number 8712661155. Furthermore, he advised against undertaking any unlawful action at city check posts, assuring them of all possible assistance from the Hyderabad City Police and  that you should also cooperate with us.

City Police gears up for Bakrid

  In preparation for the upcoming Bakrid festival, a coordination meeting was held today at the 5th Floor  conference Hall of the Old Police Commissioner's Office, Basheer Bagh. The meeting, chaired by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Sri C.V. Anand IPS, aimed to ensure a peaceful and clean celebration of the festival across the city. During the meeting, Sri C.V. Anand  discussed on several important points:

• Curbing Illegal Animal Transportation: He instructed the establishment of checkposts around the Hyderabad City Commissionerate to prevent the illegal transportation of animals without proper veterinary certificates or those not ready for slaughter. Vehicles found violating these rules are to be seized and immediately sent to GHMC-designated animal holding points or goshalas. The Commissioner appealed to the public and Gorakshak members not to take the law into their own hands, emphasizing that only government officials and law enforcement agencies are authorized to stop or inspect vehicles carrying animals.

• Veterinary Services: The Animal Husbandry Department and GHMC were requested to ensure the availability of 24/7 veterinary doctors at all   checkposts.

o GHMC officials were advised to deploy dog catching squads in all areas before Bakrid to manage stray dogs.

o They were also instructed to supply disposal covers to every household for the disposal of animal carcasses.

o Special teams are to be deployed on the festival day for the collection of garbage and carcasses.

o GHMC is to arrange adequate vehicles, tippers, and JCBs for efficient collection and disposal of animal waste, and ensure sufficient staff for waste removal during Bakrid.

• The Electricity and Engineering departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival to prevent any inconvenience to the public.

o HMWSSB and Engineering officials are to supervise and maintain sewerage systems and ensure uninterrupted water supply.

o RTA officials were asked to ensure the availability of sufficient drivers, mechanics, and cranes .

The GHMC Commissioner detailed the extensive sanitation measures being implemented, including the deployment of additional sanitation teams and garbage collection vehicles near wards and mosques. He assured that garbage bags would be readily available and GHMC officials would be actively performing their duties.

Sri C.V. Anand IPS reiterated that only assigned police personnel, GHMC, and Animal Husbandry Department staff would be present at the checkposts. He suggested forming local, zonal, and commissionerate-level coordination teams comprising officials from all departments for better coordination and response. He concluded by stating that this coordinated mechanism, through continuous collaboration and proactive actions by officials, would significantly help in resolving any issues that may arise, ensuring a smooth, safe, and joyful Bakrid celebration for all citizens.

Tolichowki police station starts functioning

  On 21-05-2025, at 1130 hours Sri C.V. Anand, IPS DG & Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City has visited the police station Tolichowki and monitored management working process .Today received a complaint from the petitioner where first FIR was issued and handed over the FIR to petitioner. The visiting program was supervised under the leader ship of Sri Chandra Mohan, Dy. Commissioner of police, South West Zone, and all the Zonal ACP’s and Inspectors. The New Police Station was established by dividing the existing police station of Golconda, Mehdipatnam and Filmnagar issued in the G.O.M.S.No: 32, Home (Legal) Dept, Dt: 30-04-2023. Some specific areas have been divided from the existing police station and Formed Tolichowki P.S (L&O). Presently the allotted staff are performing patrolling in the area and the police station has been divided into four sectors where Blue Colts and patrolling cars performing patrolling in the area by allotted staff to the police station Tolichowki. CM lauds CV Anand for his team's anti-narcotics efforts

Chief Minister Shri A.Revanthreddy lauded Hyderabad Police Commissioner for bagging a global award for H-New's anti-narcotics efforts. Hon'ble CM called it a proud moment for the state and a step forward for the fight against drug abuse. 

Hyderabad Police chief wins anti-naroctics award in Dubai

 Mr.CV Anand, DG & CP Hyderabad, representing The HNEW- Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing was awarded the first position in for "Excellence in Anti-Narcotics Award" at the World Police Summit (WPS) 2025, organized by Dubai Police from May 13 to May 15 th  2025. This international recognition was bestowed upon him due to the proactive measures undertaken to curb drug trafficking and consumption in Hyderabad city, awareness programs conducted for drug control within the students and general community in the Hyderabad commissionerate limits , and the significant achievements made in this regard. 

At the awards ceremony held today at the Dubai Police Officers Club in Dubai, UAE, Sri C.V. Anand IPS, Director General and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, received the "Excellence in Anti-Narcotics Award" from the esteemed World Police Summit Committee.

Speaking on this occasion, the Commissioner stated that prominent police officers from 138 countries participated in the International Police Summit-2025. He expressed his immense happiness that the Hyderabad City Police's H-NEW  had won the "Excellence in Anti-Narcotics Award" after competing with highly efficient police forces from various continents across the globe. He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of his team members in achieving this prestigious award and extended his sincere gratitude to each of them. He further emphasized that this achievement is a matter of great pride not only for the Telangana Police but for the entire police force of India. He attributed this recognition to the innovative work practices and comprehensive approach adopted by H-NEW in controlling narcotics.12 police officers and innovators from various law enforcement agencies of 12 countries were awarded the first prize in various categories of law enforcement 

In a panel discussion preceding the awards function ,Mr Anand spoke about the issues of narcotics faced by India as a nation , especially after Covid, the various ways in which the narcotics are entering the country, the various gangs and peddlers apprehended, the efforts to watch educational institutions through anti drug committees and awareness campaigns , the rehabilitation measures etc.,

Miss World 2025 Heritage Walk in Hyderabad Concludes Peacefully with Exemplary Police Coordination

 Hyderabad played host to a vibrant cultural showcase as Miss World 2025 contestants embarked on a heritage walk through the iconic Charminar, indulged in traditional shopping at Laad Bazaar, and culminated their journey with a royal dinner at the illustrious Chowmahalla Palace. The event, part of the broader Miss World 2025 itinerary, proceeded seamlessly, reflecting meticulous planning and coordination by the Hyderabad City Police in collaboration with various civic departments.

The heritage walk commenced at the Charminar, where contestants were welcomed with traditional fanfare. They then meandered through the bustling lanes of Laad Bazaar, renowned for its exquisite bangles, pearls, and bridal wear, offering a glimpse into Hyderabad's rich artisanal legacy . The evening culminated at the Chowmahalla Palace, a symbol of the city's regal past, where the contestants were treated to a cultural evening and dinner. 

The Hyderabad City Police, under the vigilant supervision of Commissioner C.V. Anand, ensured the event's security and smooth conduct. CP Anand accompanied by senior traffic and field officers, conducted thorough inspections of the event routes, particularly focusing on the narrow lanes of Laad Bazaar, issuing directives to ensure minimal disruption and maximum safety for both participants and the public. 

Dry Run Conducted for Miss World Contestants’ Upcoming Tour in City

 Hyderabad City Police successfully conducted a full-scale dry run in preparation for the upcoming visit of Miss World contestants to Charminar, Laad Bazaar, and Chowmohallah Palace. The event is aimed at showcasing the rich heritage of Hyderabad and Telangana.

Layered security arrangements were reviewed on ground, including thorough antecedent verification of all personnel involved. Law and order deployments, along with traffic regulation measures, were physically tested in real time. Operational gaps were identified and necessary adjustments are being implemented to ensure a seamless and secure event.

Rally of solidarity against terrorism

 A rally of solidarity against terrorism or తీవ్రవాదానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా సంఘీభావ rally was taken out from Secretariat to  Necklace road rotary . Led by the Hon’ble CM, about 1500 government employees , members from different #police organisations of the state , retired military officials walked to the tune of Lata Mangeshkar s Aai Mere Watan ke logon and expressed complete solidarity with the armed forces in whatever they may have to do in the coming days to defend the honour of the nation and the Hon’ble CM  spoke strongly about teaching the enemy a fitting lesson.

Administration on high alert

 "It was a busy day with the early morning information that Op Sindoor has been launched on Pakistan. Yesterday all departments had coordinated on how and where to organise the mock drills under Operation Abhyaas  , the H ble CM held a review with all department heads and military authorities and asked us to maintain high alert and asked me act as the official spokesperson for this period and I addressed the media about the details of the preparedness . 

At 4 pm the sirens went off mostly from the iCCC controlled public address systems at traffic junctions and our patrol vehicles as the war sirens are not available ,  people took precautionary measures like going into cellars or safe buildings . Then at 4:15 pm upon a message from the iCCC, the mock drills started at the 4 locations in the city. Police , fire , medical, revenue , GHMC, , NDRF etc all rushed and carried out evacuation, first aid , fire control activities . Basically it was testing the preparedness and getting the administration and people prepared for any eventuality of a full scale war. More exercises will be done in the days ahead depending on the situation." 

CP distributes traffic kits

 Today, on 6th May 2025, Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, DG Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, distributed Traffic Kit Articles to the personnel of the Hyderabad Traffic Police.  As part of the distribution, new hats were also provided to the Traffic Police. These new hats are being introduced to replace the existing ones, which were found to be uncomfortable during the summer season. The new design aims to improve comfort and usability for officers on duty in high temperatures.

  During the event, Sri C.V. Anand addressed the gathering and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the traffic personnel.  He urged them to continue improving their efficiency and commitment to ensuring smooth traffic management in the city. He also announced that high-rise cameras will be installed on selected tall buildings to effectively monitor and capture traffic violations.

Furthermore, the Commissioner informed that a drone has been provided to the Hyderabad Traffic Branch. This drone will be used for traffic analysis and monitoring, with the goal of providing hassle-free and efficient traffic flow in the city.  Also informed to take the help of the Google team for better traffic management for providing free flow of traffic to the commuters.

HYDERABAD CITY POLICE Chief CV Anand & HNEW’s ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS AGAINST NARCOTICS EARNS HYD CITY GLOBAL RECOGNITION

 Hyderabad CP CV Anand and HNEW - Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing has been awarded first place in the category of "Excellence in Anti-Narcotics Award " at the  World Police Summit (WPS) 2025, being organized  by Dubai Police and scheduled to be held from May 13th – May 15th. This accolade places Telangana & India  on the global map of pioneering Anti-narcotics enforcement.  

The World Police Summit  is  a premier global forum that brings together leading law enforcement professionals from over 138 countries. With participation from globally renowned agencies such as the FBI, NYPD, LAPD, Metropolitan Police (UK), Australian Federal Police, and the German Police etc., the Summit promotes strategic collaboration, exchange of best practices, deliver impactful solutions and insights to address the challenges of modern policing. 

This year’s award nominations witnessed intense global competition. Entries received from wide spectrum of police units across continents  underwent a rigorous two stage evaluation process conducted by  jury comprising skilled practitioners  and Dubai Police. Evaluation parameters included impact on Anti-narcotics supply, decline in substance use, community engagement, inter agency collaboration etc., In the first stage, each judge reviewed and scored  the entries and the top five entries in each category were shortlisted. In the second stage, the shortlisted entrants were contacted and invited to participate in a virtual meeting to substantiate their initiatives & enforcement measures. In this virtual meeting, CP Anand delivered a comprehensive presentation  and elucidated the enforcement measures.  

Against this highly competitive backdrop,Mr. CV Anand emerged as the top awardee, marking an extraordinary achievement not only for Telangana Police but also for the country’s collective anti-narcotics efforts. Central to this recognition is the pioneering work of H-NEW which has implemented a holistic approach to drug control, combining:

• Multi-agency coordination with ED, NCB, DRI, GST, Excise, FRRO, Drugs Control Administration, and Counter Intelligence.

• Community outreach through Anti-drug committees in colleges and sustained public awareness initiatives.

• Strong enforcement action leading to the busting of international and inter-state peddling networks, dark web interventions, deportation of foreign offenders, and a significant  decline in drug supply.

• Rehabilitation focus, integrating support for victims of substance abuse alongside enforcement. 

This global recognition is a testament to the State Government’s and Hyd City police’s strong resolve, and the unwavering commitment and sustained efforts in  combating the menace of narcotics. The award also  serves as a powerful encouragement for continued excellence, reinforcing Hyderabad City Police’s dedication in advancing the State Government’s mission of drug-free Telangana. 

The WPS team has  formally informed Mr. Anand of his selection for first place in the Excellence in Anti-Narcotics Award category and congratulated him.“This is a recognition of your remarkable achievements in advancing security and safety, and your efforts in promoting awareness and impactful change across communities and nations,” the WPS team conveyed.

Mr. Anand will receive the award at the awards ceremony scheduled to be held on May 15, 2025, at the Dubai Police Officers Club, Dubai, UAE.
