CP held key VC to brief the force on Dos & Donts while performing Election related duties

 With the Model Code of Conduct firmly in effect for the upcoming TSLA elections scheduled for November 30th, the City Police Commissioner, Mr. CV Anand, conducted a comprehensive Video Conference to meticulously assess the state of preparedness and elucidate the essential Dos and DON'Ts to all staff officers.

In his address, CP Anand underscored four pivotal facets that demand immediate attention: adherence to established procedures, timely compilation of reports, vigilant monitoring, and thorough training & briefing of the police force. He emphasized that these aspects must remain paramount until the culmination of the polls. Furthermore, he urged the enforcement of stricter measures, including intensified surprise checks.


Mr. Anand issued directives to all DCPs, ACPs and nodal ACPs to convene meetings with political parties at their respective levels. He instructed them to activate round-the-clock election cells within their offices. Additionally, he emphasized the need for coordinated planning with officers from neighbouring commissionerates to ensure the effective security of polling stations that partially fall under their jurisdiction.

CP Anand also urged all officers to take resolute action against any instances of illicit cash, liquor, narcotics, or other prohibited inducements. He stressed the importance of preventing political parties from intersecting during campaigns, factoring this into route planning and permission issuance, meticulously allocating time slots to avoid any untoward incidents.

An important decree was that all licensed firearms must be surrendered, and no new licenses should be issued until the conclusion of the polls. Static Surveillance teams (SST) were set to commence their operations, and the Flying Squad teams were instructed to intensify their checks. The number of integrated inter-commissionerate checkposts will be  increased from 11 to 18.

The meeting also encompassed discussions on executing Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs), monitoring social media platforms, surveillance on Hawala operators, binding over troublemakers, and other operational matters.

CP Anand stressed the imperative that 100 percent of the City Police force cast their votes through the facilitating centers.

Mr. Vikram Singh Mann, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), emphasized strict adherence to all Election Commission of India (ECI) norms within predetermined time limits. He underscored the decentralization of responsibilities through nodal ACPs, an increase in visible policing, and expounded on various legal provisions and Acts.

Mr. Viswa Prasad, Additional Commissioner of Police – Special Branch, underscored the significance of obtaining actionable intelligence to ensure fair and transparent elections, advocating the uniform application of procedures while seizing cash, precious metals, other freebies. He stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance on fake  voter ID makers, transport companies, courier service providers, taking stringent action against electoral offenses, and providing clear instructions to the police force regarding their roles and duties.

Mr. Sudir Babu, Additional Commissioner of Police - Traffic, highlighted the proactive measures being taken by the Traffic wing to address any forthcoming events in the city until the conclusion of the polls. Mr. Srinivasulu, Joint Commissioner of Police for CAR Headquarters, briefed the attendees on the logistical arrangements made to deploy escorts, vehicles, Personal Security Officers (PSOs), and drivers to police officers engaged in poll-related duties. He also provided an update on the accommodation arrangements for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies at CTCs and other relevant aspects.

Smt. Parimala Hana Nutan, Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration), brought to the forefront several critical internal administrative issues.

Milad processions passed off peacefully

 The Milad  processions were marked by religious zeal by the devotees and enthusiasts across the city amid police vigil. Thousands of participants  were seen on bikes,four wheelers and on foot traversing  through key junctions.City police commissioner Mr.CV Anand chaired the inter-department command control center at TSPICC where he monitored the CCTV feeds, drone visuals and issued instructions to the  deputies in field.

The main procession began from Quadri chaman and weaved through the arterial routes Enginebowli, Nagal chintha and reached charminar around noon where the Kotwal  stationed with other senior echelons greeted the Milad julus members. police personnel ensured the procession route is clear and the traffic teams have been working  in tandem at all critical junctions. Other tributary processions in different zones were being closely monitored.
