Civil Supplies Commissioner C.V. Anand today made a surprise visit to check Rabi season paddy purchase centers in four districts — Yadadri, Janagaon, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural. He enquired about the conditions and problems in the paddy purchase centers with concerned district officials and farmers.
He said that strict action would be taken against officials concerned, if any irregularity was found in gunny bags used for carrying paddy and other supplies.
“Gunny bags are carried to agriculture fields and other places, and several complaints have come to my notice mainly in Paddy Purchase Centers under Primary Agriculture Cooperation Societies (PACS) in Warangal and Jangaon areas,” he said.
Anand, who extensively toured four districts- Bhupalpally, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, and Jagtial, on Friday and held review meetings with Collectors, Joint Collectors, FCI, Civil Supplies Department, and marketing officials.
He warned the officials that if gunny bags were not utilised according to the norms, those found guilty would be blacklisted and criminal cases would booked against them.
The Commissioner visited parboiled rice mills in Dhanwad village in Kataram Mandal of Jayashanker Bhupalapally and Peddapalli districts, and inspected Paddy Purchase Centers in Durshed village of Karimnagar.
