Internal resources optimised to enhance visible policing

HCP chief Mr.CV Anand has been taking continuous steps for improving the police practices and systems in Hyderabad city. In this regard the CP had recently constituted a Committee with Sri.Kartikeya IPS  Jt. CP, CAR HQ, Sri.Gaja Rao Bhupal IPS Jt. CP,DD and Sri.Satish DCP, IT Cell with the assistance of Sri Burhan Ali ,ADCP (MT) to study the existing Police Patrol system  to  enhance  visible policing, optimise the utilisation of resources available to curb  crime in large jurisdictional areas  in Hyderabad city.

In view of the above, the committee has studied extensively the Patrol Car system, the Dial 100 calls volume and the jurisdictions of all PS in Hyderabad city with the aid of last 1year data made available through technology initiatives in vogue in Hyderabad city police IT cell.

With an objective for swift Police services response to public grievances redressed through Patrol car delivery mechanism in  times of emergency and to enhance the overall visibility of Police the committee has made certain recommendations.

The CP has given orders to strengthen the Patrol system by allotting additional patrol cars and manpower to the existing patrol fleet of 2 Police stations - Banjara Hills & Jubilee Hills. These PS are having large jurisdiction area, high Dial 100 call volume and thus high work load. This step will significantly improve the response time of the field Police officers to attend Dial 100 calls as quickly as possible besides enhancement of visibility and to improve confidence among common the public.

Police Stations having larger jurisdictions have also been allotted extra quota of fuel for their Patrol vehicles. Now 104 Police patrol cars are allotted additional fuel per month by rationalisation of work load and kms covered.

This step is a welcome and another positive initiative for better man management and resource optimization exercise of Hyderabad city police.
